A cozy pizza spot in a great area.
We had the Peach and Burrata Salad, Banger Pizza, complemented with a medium body chilled red wine.
The peach and burrata salad was incredible. My first bite was into a perfectly ripe, juicy peach. I asked the waiter if it was locally sourced, and they confirmed by suspicion by saying their fresh ingredients are from the Santa Monica Farmers market. The cheese and oils made for am incredibly savory salad that was fresh, sweet, and tasty.
The banger pizza was also very good. I know that the sourdough is this place's claim to fame, and it very much loved up to the hype. One of my favorite parts was the crust, it had a good crisp, but the center was so doughy and warm. My only complaint about the pizza was that I loved all the ingredients so much, I just wish there was a little more of everything. I thought the balance and spread within the pizza was good, it is it was disappointing when I would have bites of just dough and sauce, although it was still good, I feel like they could've been a bit more generous with the toppings.
The wine recommendations were spot on, and we really loved the vibe inside. There were great records on the wall, had an amazing open kitchen where you can see your food being prepped.
I would recommend getting a reservation, as we were seated at the community tables that wasn't my preferred arrangement, but it was great to be able to get a walk-in on the weekend.
I do like how spread out the interior is, it allows for a great date night, or a fun time vibing to the music without having to yell to get your group to hear you.

Read moreAfter visiting this local brick oven pizza place, I'm still thinking about their incredible offerings! The star of the show was the "Banger" pizza - a masterful combination of red sauce, mozzarella, salami, mustard seeds, honey, and fresh basil. The dough achieved that perfect balance of soft interior with a slightly crispy exterior that true pizza aficionados search for.
We also ordered the burrata served with their homemade sourdough bread, which was a delightful starter that showcased their commitment to quality ingredients.
Our server Dylan deserves special recognition - he was not only attentive but impressively knowledgeable about both the food menu and wine selections, elevating our dining experience with thoughtful recommendations. The house Pinot Noir was also amazing!
Whether you're planning a romantic date night, gathering with friends, or bringing the family, this spot delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The convenient street parking is definitely a plus in this neighborhood.

Read moreWhen I walked into Grá, I was initially impressed by the rustic atmosphere and air of exclusivity. The interior design and the beverages proved to be the only highlights of the experience however. I instantly noticed signs of sloppiness. A dead roach under the table, a withered hanging plant that should have been thrown out two weeks ago. The ice cold beer and sparkling natural wine were redeeming, and I would come back for this purpose alone. The farmers market lettuce was practically submerged in dressing. I love salad and will consume salad in almost any form, but this was an exception to that rule. Perhaps my expectations were set too high. But this offense was repeated with the daikon kimchi, which was so fibrous as to be inedible, and the pizza, whose sourdough crust refused to shine under the layers of salt and oil. And through no fault of the establishment’s own I was in direct line of sight of a man’s butt crack the entire time. However I will keep coming back for the drinks and the relaxed setting. After the $80 check was served, I...
