Ordered a family meal for mothers day to pick up to take to the park with my 2 toddlers. Estimated time to be ready was between 1235P and 1245P. I showed up to pick up my order at 1230P and noticed a sign on the door that's said "be right back" and the door was locked with all lights off. I figured I would would wait a few minutes before I would call. 1240, no one showed up. I called the restaurant number and it rang and rang, no one answered. At this point I'm worried my food wasnt even started yet. 1245 another car pulls up to place an order. I advised them I had placed an order and been waiting for pickup with no luck. The couple called the phone number on the help wanted sign on the door and the owner answered and said she would be right over. About 15 mins later she shows up to open the door and says she can not find my order and asks me to show her on the screen. I pointed it out immediately, the first order placed on her screen. She then says it will be about 10 mins. My first thought was am I getting reheated left overs? This is an authentic halal restaurant I hope it takes longer or there is nothing fresh! As my two toddler were getting very impatient told her I'd be right back to grab the food. I went to the car and came back several times to check on my food. 140pm my food was completed to pickup. All the owner said was she was sorry for the wait. No discount no extra grape leaves... nothing. Okay well then at this point kiddos are ready for naptime and we just go home. Good thing because they didnt include silverware or napkins, I even specified on order! AND my kids burger was wrong! I asked for everything on the side since well... toddlers. And now I have 2 mad kids and one unhappy mama on mothers day! Great reviews for the taste of food but the worst service I've ever...

I have been to a lot of restaurants that serve gyros. I am serious when I say this; no two gyros taste the same. The ingredients of gyros are so pungent that the tastes could not be more different once you’re half way through. The gyros at Halal Gyro & Pizza house have the most edgy gyro around. It is made to enjoy the whole way through without growing tired of it. The reason why I like the gyros here probably has something to do with the tzatziki sauce. Or another reason might be the way the gyros are served. Many of the plates are a type of open-faced gyro and are accompanied with rice, and not folded like I’m used to. They prepare it folded also. The kabob dishes are delicious also. They aren’t dry kabobs like I am used to they are not overcooked, but just right.

Then way over on the other side of the spectrum is the other menu items. I thought this was a bit strange, but the sandwiches and pizza are fantastic. I have heard people say that restaurants need to choose what they specialize in. This place has talented chefs and cooks, because I like all of the food. Check the place out if you’re in san Fernando valley, you...

when we pulled up to the parking, the lady came out asking us to park a little far saying the parking is for her customers only and we told her that we were coming to her restaurant and then after we went in she was telling us that the homeless people are always blocking her parking but i would rather have her asked us if we were going to her restaurant rather than assuming otherwise yk. they were nice enough to let me use their employee only restroom. we ordered their chicken wrap which was 4/10 it was cold and it wasn't anything special we also got their chicken afghani plate which was a 10/10. as we were leaving we asked for extras hummus and it was $5 but as i was pulling $5 out of my wallet she saw a $1 bill too and she asked for it and then put it in the tip jar, which i didnt quite like because i was gonna tip regardless but asking for it like that is weird to me. i feel like everywhere if the owner is a little older they have this habit of doing this with tips but overall they were nice but those are some of my...

Today, when I ordered for pick up, i found an error with my order. My rice plate was filled with yogurt all over half of the food, instead of side of hummus. When I called to inform/inquire, the woman said they were "out" of hummus and just swapped it for yogurt. The issue is I am highly allergic to yogurt so atleast she could have asked and offered any options. Instead of apologizing she simply said don't eat it and hung up. I was also charged for large fries but received a regular sized fries. Last time I ordered pick up from this restaurant, the son was helping out and everything was beyond my expectation. Eventhough there was a wait because they were busy, the food was good and everything was satisfactory. Personally, unless there are multiple people working, I am just leaving. Unfortunately the woman doesn't speak proper English and just doesn't care about her customers.

A must try, especially if you’ve never had afghan food before but wanted to try. This place is definitely family owned, and the sweet woman working was the only one there. As a tip- I would recommend you don’t come here starving as the food takes a minute to get to the table. But don’t take that as a negative, the portions are huge so you won’t leave hungry. The lady was so kind and gave us a free Bolani, which is a potato and leek stuffed flatbread and it was crispy and full of flavor. Not to mention the spicy green sauce was incredible. We ordered the chicken afghan plate that comes with salad, kebabs, and kabuli (afghan spiced rice). And also the ashak and mantu, both of which are dumplings that have great spice (the mantu has beef). 100% recommend this little hole in the wall to anyone

i love this restaurant! went here a week ago with the whole family and couldn't help coming back again 😋. all the food that we have had is excellent, such as beef qorma, land and chicken afghani plates (chicken is best personally), mantu, ashak, and of course the bolani. it all tasted home cooked and the lady that owns the place and operates it all by herself is very very nice, making me feel at home, as if she were my own grandma. i would highly recommend for afghani food lovers and people who have never had it before. afghani food is highly underrated, one of the best cuisines out there, i would encourage anyone living in or near the valley to try this place.
