Garbage! Ordered a pastrami sandwich with double meat and it was less meat than an average pastrami sandwich. The menu said it came with mustard and pickles but there were no pickles on it. Also ordered chili cheese fries and there was about 2 table spoons of chili on them, a slice of cheese and it was a tiny portion. My mom ordered a burger. She rarely complains about anything and even she was very disappointed. She told me that some radio station said it's the best burger in Southern California and that's why we tried it. Whomever from that radio station who said that must be paid off, stoned, delusional or all of the above. To make matters worse, I called to nicely voice my concern for being ripped off on an order that was over $30 for 3 items I could have made better at home and Alfredo just rudely said "Okay, I'm sorry." as he rushed me off the phone while greeting new victims that were walking in. I am not one to leave reviews except for very rarely when service is above average or extremely poor...I mean it has to be really bad for me to take the time to leave a bad review. I have been a multi business owner for several years and I understand you can't please everyone but this was absolutely ridiculous! I will never ever eat there again and I highly recommend that if you're reading this you go give another mom and pops style restaurant a try because I already did the work for you at this one...not worth it one bit! They should take down that big ugly yellow sign bragging about the radio station because it means absolutely nothing...just falsely raises people's hopes. Would give 0 stars out of 5 if there...
Read moreStopped in for my first time for dinner Friday night because I’ve driven by this place many times and I’ve seen the “best burger in LA” claim and I know they’ve been open since 1968 so I figured I had to give it a try. I would not say it’s the best burger in LA, not even close, but it’s still really good overall. I really like the ambience inside, it’s just like a 50s diner, but this place is more designed for to go meals instead of a sit down restaurant with service. They have a fairly limited menu, but it has all the classics on it. Service is really fast and I will say the pricing is very fair which was probably my favorite part. It’s located in a small strip mall with a free parking lot attached out front.
It took a bit for me to decide what I wanted to order because there were so many things on the menu that I like. I had to try their fresh squeezed Orange Juice to start and I’m very happy that I chose it because it was delicious as expected. For my meal, I ordered the Sassy Cheese and the Hot One. The sassy cheese is just like a regular cheeseburger, very similar in taste to Burger King. It was good, but I think the patty is a bit too thin. The hot one is a hotdog with chili on top and I thought it was pretty good but the chili was a bit bland.
Overall, a good takeout option and worth trying if you are...
Read moreI’ve been here 3 times. Today was different from the other times. I usually get my #2 with an extra patty and fries. While waiting for my food, I noticed an older man yell at the cook, who was cooking my burger- about flipping the patty too many times. When I got home to eat, the bun and patties were super dry. After washing the food down with 2 cups of water, I decided to call the restaurant to voice my concern in a polite manner. I asked to speak with the owner (Frank); I told Frank what happened and his response: No, I don’t yell at my employees, we play around, blah blah blah. I told him no, I’m not deaf - you did yell at him and that he needs to fix the issue(s) or else he will be losing customers. He said “okay”.
The employees have a good attitude and provide good service. The fries were great. The pickle was great. For $20, the burger and the Owner were a Huge let down!
Frank, if you’re reading this, you need to teach your employees on how to grill burgers BEFORE they start cooking for/serving customers. And, you need to take accountability when a customer points out your mistakes. We all make mistakes. Don’t be a coward and double down. You’re too old for that. Learn from this or else you’ll be losing more than...
