Jaqki's Cake Creations — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I gave this location 2 stars although I did not go with this option-

When I met the owner she was very sweet and kind. The day I requested to meet her she was unavailable as it was actually her birthday so I specifically drove from San Diego, to Los Angeles and spent the night in Los Angeles to meet her the next day early in the morning.

The cake itself was yummy, the perfect amount of moisture, and the perfect hint of sweetness.

Communicating with Jacqui was easy!

Now you ask why I gave only 2 stars:

While my wedding is 4 months away, Jacqui requested a deposit. I do not live in LA and my grandfather way diagnosed with Cancer. For 1.5 months I was flying back and forth from San Diego (where I live ) to Philadelphia (Where my Grandma lives) in an out of the hospital and while I was gone I had a sibling who mistakenly called "Susie's Cakes" to reserve instead of Jacqui's cakes. When I called Jacqui to clear this up she was a bit cold and did not seem to be sympathetic at all.

Jacqui actually told me she will not make my wedding cake because she did not receive my payment via mail 4 business days later. Ironically that morning I called Jacqui's cakes and it seemed like I called to early as nobody answered and I was calling to find out who I should make the check out to.

Once Jacqui declined to make my cake (I was beyond appalled) she then suggested we go to Gelsons Supermarket to get our wedding cake. I was not only embarrassed but at a loss for words.

I was pretty excited to support a small business and have such a personal touch with Jacqui's cake for our wedding but given the sequence of events, the owner's insensitivity, and the outcome I am not only upset but extremely...

Although the cake was delicious it did not make up for the fact Jaqki left the venue without adding the flowers onto my wedding cake. We had spoken multiple times beforehand that she would arrive at 4pm and the flowers would be delivered to her. She told me don’t worry about it I will clean and place the flowers onto the cake (as part of her duty as the baker). When I arrived at the venue at 4pm with flowers in hand the cake had been delivered but she had already left with no communication to me or my coordination. Luckily my coordinator placed the flowers for me after waiting over an hour for Jaqki to return but she shouldn’t have had to do that. She is a very nice lady but on multiple occasions has seemed very forgettable on the phone which was proven on my wedding day. So...

Jaqki is amazing and so are her cakes. I made an appointment to come in for cake tasting one morning with my cousin. We came in sat down, I shot some flavors at her she brought them all out for us to taste (big pieces mind you so that you can taste the yummy flavors) they were absolutely amazing. Also since it was morning she even made us coffee. Going forward 2 months later to the wedding the cake was absolutely beautiful! I cant thank Jaqki enough for working with me and making the whole cake thing so easy.
