At any event or bar where there is security, security's job is to help prevent problems, not to create problems. When I visited this bar on August 29, 2025, the security created a problem where there was none. When I entered the bar, they asked for my ID. Of course this is normal as most bars do this. I pulled out my ID and handed it over. However, I am over the age of 50. As a result it is rare that I am carded and when I am, it always stands out - frankly I usually take it as a compliment! I joked with the security that I must look my age for them to card me. If I say similar jokes in other places (if I am carded), most security responds with a smile and quick joke, maybe saying how young all of their customers look! Here the security became almost angry. It was almost like they interpreted my joke as though I was questioning their authority. One of them even said, "You can leave if you don't want to comply." Shocked, I responded by pointing out that I had already provided my ID, I already complied with their policy. There was no reason for them to get angry. Regardless, I moved on, went to the bar to order my drink. Several minutes later I was sitting down with my friends, drinking and talking - like anyone does at a bar. Security then walked by, accused me of talking about them (I was not) and told me that they were going to kick me out if I continued to talk about them. My first thought was to ignore it and move on. The problem I had was that they made it clear they were going to harass me the rest of the night. I decided the best course was for me to leave. The problem now was that the door I had entered through had been roped off and closed (by security). Instead of helping me find the new door I am supposed to use, they yelled at me and told me I couldn't go that way. I asked them what door I was supposed to use, and they pointed. I walked over to that door, exited, and then as I was walking outside of the building, security yelled at me again, and told me never to return. It is perfectly fine never to return, I seldom go to this bar anyhow, and there are plenty of other, better bars in the area. However this treatment was not appropriate. In hind sight, I can only imagine that they felt challenged by me because I asked a question about being carded. It is unfortunate that they took a simple joke, and escalated it into an actual problem. At a bar, people get drunk and you can expect this kind of thing, but not from security. Security is supposed to prevent this kind of behavior,...
Read moreI've heard about this bar and always wanted to try. Also thought they had food there but when we asked the bartender said no! We Came for a friend's birthday last minute. The bartender seemed upset that he had customers come in and was rude the whole night. He was the only one there to work, but should have gotten help if he couldn't handle it. He kept looking up recipes while making drinks whch is fine if you're a first timer but when we spoke he said it's a chill cljob that he doesn't have to really be involved in. When I ordered a mocktail ( cocktail with no alcohol) he grunted. He then asked what I liked I told him and I guess it was too many answers because he just said he could give me a can of a mocktail prepaid. I ddnt bother tipping because he obviously didn't want to make me a drink. The rest of the night I kept ordering Mocktail like drinks gingerale And oj with a splash of lime. He kept saying under his breath " another one" I was like if u don't wanna be here then dont. Bartenders are ppl person if u can't entertain me or find a way to help me then don't do it. Anyways by the end of the night I got one last drink oj and Red Bull with a lime. He then asked me how much of what and what. Wow. I used to be a bartender and Ive never had to ask the customers for help. The pizza spot next door make everything worth while. If I do decide to go back I'll make sure that bartender isn't there. I'm hoping for more knowledgeable bartenders next time and hopefully one who likes to...
Read moreSolid Dive spot, great for dates and kick backs. There’s loud good music and a smoking patio. It’s sorta a hole in the wall which is hard to find in LA. I’ve gone here a lot and appreciate anyone with a solid happy hour. Theres like food pop ups and goth night ( probably) . The bartenders are good people and always deserve big tips. They work hard behind the bar and the crowd is a good mix. Crusty but not too crusty. It’s a legit hang and I think you will like it. Tell you friends to meet you there on a Friday or even a Saturday night and you will have a fun night out. Esp if you grab a pizza next door and make it a whole thing. Ask first but I’ve seen people bring in the triple beam pizza from next door. Last time I went for a friends birthday - I was offered a slice of sugar free kale cake- I turned it down because I wasn’t in the mood. I sat on the inside of the booth next to Chloe but I kinda got boxed in and ended up staying later than I had imagined. It was fun but I never even got up for a second drink. And then some one broke a glass and I decided...
