Update: I had an issue where I was served a burrito made with egg, which I’m allergic to. They remade it, but never informed me that I’d be charged for both—a serious problem, especially when the mistake was on their end. When I raised my concern, the owner’s daughter was disrespectful and dismissive, completely lacking in customer service skills.
Their recent public response—“We don’t take your feedback seriously because you’re the problem”—just confirms how little they value their customers.
Thankfully, I haven’t had to go back because The Original Leonor’s located on (Victory & Tujunga) has been amazing. They treat customers with respect and kindness, and I highly recommend going there instead.
This review serves as a warning: if you have food allergies or expect even basic courtesy, look elsewhere. Don't worry about me returning especially after that snarky interaction and your defensive/unprofessional response you left on google reviews. I stay loyal to The Original Leonor's. BY THE WAY IT'S YOUR NEGATIVITY PUSHING CUSTOMERS AWAY! 😉
Original Review: I visited this restaurant with high hopes and a craving for a delicious burrito. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a disappointment and frustration. The customer service I encountered was far below acceptable standards, and it left a sour taste in my mouth.
To begin with, my order was completely botched. They managed to make my burrito incorrectly, completely disregarding my specific instructions due to allergy. Instead of getting the mouthwatering combination of flavors I was anticipating, I ended up with a mess that didn't resemble what I had requested. The lack of attention to detail and care in preparing my order was highly disappointing.
When I approached the staff about the issue, they reluctantly agreed to make me a new burrito. However, to my disbelief, they had the audacity to charge me for both burritos! Not only did I have to endure the frustration of receiving an incorrect order, but I was also burdened with paying for their mistake.
The customer service during this whole ordeal was absolutely abysmal. The staff members specifically the younger female server showed no empathy or understanding of the inconvenience they had caused. They failed to take responsibility for their errors and instead decided to make me pay for their own mistakes. It's truly disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism and customer care in a supposedly reputable establishment.
I strongly advise against...
Read moreThe entire faux-hipster scene on the Valley's "Restaurant Row" is SO yucky! Folk standing in lines, (valet parking) paying ridiculous prices just to see-&-be-seen. May I humbly give my highest recommendation to a relaxed little gem just a few blocks north? Leonor's is a tremendous value of fresh, clean, "home-style" Mexican cooking at prices that would easily be doubled if on Ventura Blvd. And, I mean really, who doesn't know by now that the "Food Pyramid" we all got brainwashed into believing, that says meat/dairy MUST be in 2 out of 3 (if not ALL 3!) meals, was a sickening menu drafted by the Ranching Industry. Might you even consider that you're as debilitated as you are because of protein/calcium toxicity rather than deficiency?!?! At Leonor's, you don't even have to make a taste sacrifice to experience a healthy alternative. The gourmet food served here is spectacular! The presentation is beautiful & top-notch delicious! Service is like FAMILY! Live bravely. Take a vegetarian chance away from the neanderthal/carnivorous crowds. Leave your hive-phone in d'car & take a walk on d'wild side. If New York can be thrilled with "Off Broadway" theater, trust me, you will be delighted with OFF Ventura fine...
Read moreI've been vegetarian for around a decade now and make most of my meals at home. I wanted to treat myself to a meal before work and got a chicken burrito and a cheese empanda.
The empanada was delicious and the bread was soft and delicious. I would love to try it again but with vegan cheese, didn't realize the default is animal cheese. Kind of wish they didn't charge so much to make it vegan, tbh.
The burrito on the other hand, I opened up the to go box not sure if they got my order correct. Realizing the "burrito" was scattered around like a plate dish, I've never seen a burrito like this ever. It was 80% rice, some pinto beans, pieces of raw onion, breaded "chicken" that had very little taste and avocados that tasted like they were hours away from going bad.
I wanted to enjoy it but it seriously looked like a plate of leftover food all mixed together. It didn't sit right for me.
This restaurant has decent reviews, I'm just not sure how they got it with making their "burritos" like this.
I hope they consider these reviews and try to improve their menu! I wish for more vegan/vegetarian restaurants to have better food than what I...
