YogaSix Studio City — Local services in Los Angeles

I was ad targeted by this studio so decided to try it and sign up for the slow flow. No where in the sign up process Or even on the booking site itself did it say it was all hot yoga. Actually some classes are labeled as hot, so the assumption is that those not labeled hot are in fact not hot? I even texted and asked if this class would be good for beginners to yoga and it being a hot class was still not mentioned. I have an autoimmune condition which gets worse in heat, and it’s been over a week and I’m still in incredible pain. I really should have walked out of the studio when it started getting hot and that is on me, but the studio should really tell people that’s what the class is. Also I’ve been to yoga classes before and teachers go around and do corrections to make sure you don’t get hurt. I saw the teacher do one correction the whole time. They also usually ask if anyone is new and if anyone has any injuries so they can make modifications. That was not asked. Overall this might be a good studio for people very advanced but it’s not welcoming to those...

I’ve been coming here a few months and overall enjoy it… it’s been some trial and error to finding the instructors I like and the classes I like. There is a lack of consistency for a few things I find.. annoying for lack of a better term? For example some instructors do essential oils at the end, others don’t. Most instructors say to leave the props, they clean them, but I had one recently tell us to do it and there was like 20 of us in class so it took forever to leave due to traffic jams in the prop room. I also wish they were stricter in some of what I thought were classic yoga rules, ie no phones or shoes In the room. Or just other Instructors leaving enough time for the next class to start. Again recently I had the previous class instructor sitting in the room chatting away with a student when the rest of us were trying to settle in. Just feels rude? Idk maybe this studio is just more lax...

Just stepped out of my first class here and I could not wait to write this review, it’s well deserved.

After a long stressful day, I signed up through ClassPass and took the Y6 power class with Lauren. Almost immediately all worries were swept away. She was absolutely delightful, encouraging and guided each and every one of us while allowing space for whoever requested. The playlist was smooth, relaxing yet motivated me to stay in practice.

The studio is relatively small but just right for a more personal and cozy experience. The facilities are very clean, there’s filtered water cooler and lockers, and mats and towels available to rent.

Parking is super easy at the next door Wells Fargo parking lot.

Having only been open since November 2021, I’m highly impressed by the place, the staff and the overall environment. I can’t wait...
