If you're coming here for anything, let it be for their menudo and birria!

The portions are massive and can feed a group of people. We went with a large order of menudo and another large order of birria. Being the glutton that I am, I also ordered lengua sopes.

When everything came out, we immediately went to town on the heavenly goodness. Menudo is literally Mexican penicillin, relieving everything from a common cold to that massive hangover of yours from having a few too many drinks the night before.

Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted just like homemade Mexican grub you'd expect to have at a friend's place!

Parking can be a bit tough. Drop someone off first so they can line up (the line is super long on weekend mornings).

Truly, a hole in the wall. Serving the Lincoln Heights community for some forty years. If you're looking for ambiance, forget about it. Decor is a plain Jane. Nothing fancy. Just great authentic Mexican food. Prices are very reasonable. Service is fast. They work hard for the pesos. Downside? Chuy loudly chopping meat for tacos and such. But the tasty plates more than make up for that. My favorite? Classic chicken enchiladas, covered in a delicious green tomatillo sauce, comes with rice and beans. 0 stars for this trash can of a restaurant. Ordered 2 chilaquiles plates and a burrito. Tortillas were the crummy ones that are all the way at the bottom of the pack. Also, the burrito had hard old chicken pieces which we believe were not 1 day old but possibly 1 week old. We are not in the Sierra in Mexico where eating meat is a luxury. We are in the USA where the different types of meats are abundant. If you are going to be this stingy and careless, close this dump down. Also lady answering the phones in the front, it ain't the Customers fault they didn't raise your wage as a fast food restaurant worker! why we gotta pay with trash food...
