First, I want to state the ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. My mother and I stopped in because we were expecting a decent meal however we were taken back by the food that we received. The only reason I’m allowing 1 star is because our waiter was polite, professional and understanding. My mom ordered a lobster roll with fries, the lobster roll was burned and blackened as if it was shredded with bear claws and then charbroiled to a crisp and slapped on a warm bun. This display arrived on a plate with fries that were barely warm. We asked for the meal to be prepared less overcooked and blackened, and was offered a 2nd slimy sandwich with shredded lobster that was warmed up and shredded like tuna fish from the can and didn’t receive any fries to accompany the sloppy sandwich. I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and the Parmesan potato patty. When this arrived the potato patty was also burned on the exterior and softy and gushy to touch when cut open. I assumed that because it was a Parmesan patty this was necessary but as I began to chew pieces of crunchy unknown objects were in the dish. I couldn’t tell if it was seafood shell or egg shell or what. I asked a waiter who was placing silverware on a table nearby if the patties were prepped with meat and she declined because I am vegetarian. The brussel sprouts at first glance looked like a over cooked vegetable smothered in a sauce and also blackened. The first bite was crispy on the outside and sour to taste on the inside. The waiter removed the lobster roll but we were charged for the brussel sprouts and potato patty. Then we were offered a dessert after the payment was rendered for the side dishes. We declined the dessert because the food experience was horrible. Also… less than an hour later I was sick which included food poisoning symptoms. It’s a shame a beautiful aesthetically pleasing restaurant offered a horrible nightmare of an experience and a memory to turn a birthday celebration into a day of sickness and lack of health. I wish that the kitchen staff would have taken their time to prepare fresh items bc it wasn’t even packed that day and it was the beginning of the opening shifts. They must’ve pulled out old food and warmed up again on the oven to appear fresh but the only fresh received was fresh illness and a few days of recovery… hopefully…. Read moreUpdate: I went back to this restaurant on September 22. Had a whole different experience. The manager (Adam) was amazing and made sure everything was great. And the server (Mark) was excellent. He definitely has great customer service and knows how to do his Job. The food was delicious. I am glad I gave another chance to this restaurant because it exceeded my expectations this time.
Old Review: I have wanted to try this restaurant for so long, but something always came up. Being a seafood lover and with my best friend's birthday coming up, I finally decided to try this place out so I could bring all my friends for the birthday treat. I always eat out like 5 times a week and I have never had such a bad experience with a waitress. The girls at the front door were amazing and very friendly. We took a seat and this waitress (caucasian with blonde hair) came out of the kitchen section and gave us the nastiest look. My partner even said What the hell was that. After a few minutes, the same waitress came back to our table to take our orders. By this time she had crossed out table fee times and gave us the same looks. We are placing our orders and she does not at all seem to be interested in interacting with me for my orders. She asked my partner about MY order without even looking at me. Mind you my partner is white and I am brown. So I intervened and told her what I wanted. The whole time we were there not a single time did she come to our table with a smile. She was acting as if she didn't want to work but was forced to work. We had to wait so long for her to come back to our table so that we could ask for the bill. Even after she came and gave us the bill it took her ages to take it back. Since I always eat out I give a really good tip. It's always 20% or more cause I appreciate the fact that they are working hard and providing great customer service. So obviously I didn't give the server any tip and that had happened the first time when I didn't leave any tip. I never felt someone was racist to me until yesterday.
