Minori — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I had been a fan of Minori for a long time even thru the change in ownership. I have never written a negative review but ....

No idea what happened but tonight was one of the worst sit down sushi meals I've had! First warning was when (I was the only person waiting) none of the chiefs or staff would established eye contact. 2nd warning was although I was at the bar (still no eye contact with the chief) the waitress took my whole order. Guess the reason for this was after the 1st selection, I would not have order anything else, paid my bill and left. Yes they seemed crushed with to go orders, but after sitting for over 25 minutes nursing my beer, nothing! No ginger, wasabi and absolutely no attention! At 30 minutes (and almost done with my beer) I had to ask what was happening. Of course I was told I was next. 10 minutes later (oh & I had to remind the chief I ordered a salmon skin hand roll) I got my plate. Food was flavorless and my salmon skin...

This place is awful. Honestly, you could get better food and service anywhere else. I regret even eating the food that was served to me, I should’ve just walked out when it hit the table. The female host was nice, but the male server/host was pretty rude. The check arrived at the table barely minutes after my food arrived, and then he came back to see if I put money down about 60 seconds later, a very big turn off. The sushi rolls had an absolutely ridiculous amount of rice on them, way too much. And the quality of the fish was really low, like not good at all. No flavor whatsoever. There were pieces of the sushi rolls that were empty with nothing in them, rice and seaweed, nothing else, I don’t even know why they would serve that. Other than that the music was obnoxiously loud. Would give zero stars if I could. I will never come back to this place, and I recommend anyone reading this...

My husband said the sushi was very good. I am pregnant and so I ordered a cucumber and avocado roll, which unfortunately arrived on the same plate with my husband's sushi, so some juices were co-mingling and my roll was touching some raw salmon. The chef was kind enough to remake mine for free which I was grateful for. The reason I marked down the rating wasn't because of what I just mentioned, but for another reason. I ordered the spicy ramen (I love ramen), and it was literally TOP RAMEN NOODLES. They either added something to the broth or used another broth than the package comes with, with some unimpressive veggies over top, but nothing will change the fact that I paid $9 for TOP RAMEN NOODLES. It was such a disappointment. If you're not going to use quality noodles, don't offer ramen on your menu. I'd go back for the sushi, but will never order...
