We ordered from here for Passover. We were incredibly underwhelmed. We got the mushroom quinoa risotto, expecting a delicious dish with some sort of sauce and a combo of quinoa and risotto or something of the sort.... nope. It was just mushrooms and quinoa, dry as cardboard and pretty flavorless. We also ordered the artichoke beignets. Beignets are usually deep fried fritters, so we thought ‘wow, they’re making beignets from artichokes?! That’s incredible!’ Nope. It was just chunks of artichoke with onions and a sauce. It looked so unappealing. We didn’t end up eating any of it.
We were so put off and disappointed and feel like we were totally misled. Why put ‘risotto’ in the name of the dish if there’s literally nothing more to it than mushrooms and quinoa? Why call them beignets if they have nothing in common with beignets?
Beyond that, when we ordered, we scheduled our pick up for 9am. We arrive at 9:05am to discover the shop is closed. We found a delivery person out back, who told us they don’t open till noon. Thankfully (or maybe not given what the food ended up being), he was able to get our order. The receipt attached to the bag was not for our order, though, and he had no idea what to make of it.
All in all, so disappointed. Feel like we wasted our time and money. Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t return. UPDATE: I reached out to the restaurant. I wish I could give this place negative stars after interacting with them further. In response to my note about the poor quality food, they simply said everyone else likes the dishes so I'm clearly wrong. In a response to my review, the restaurant said "Customer satisfaction is always one of my priority. But not when they exaggerate and use irrelevant subjective arguments. You used reasons that were ill informed and wrong factually." My "irrelevant" subjective argument was that the food was bad - that isn't something that can be "wrong factually" because, as noted, it's SUBJECTIVE. If the restaurant cared about customer satisfaction, they wouldn't try to refute a customer's experience by pointing out how many other people liked the food (which makes the restaurant "right factually", apparently).
No restaurant is perfect and every restaurant messes up. This place refuses to consider that possibility. They also said I don't respect the restaurant, the staff, the hours they put in, and the money they have to pay for kosher certification.... but seemed to ignore their hypocrisy as they ignored the fact that we spent our time going to pick up the food at a time they told us to that was BEFORE the restaurant opened, the fact that money doesn't grow on trees and we have to work to earn money to spend, and that spending money to get a kosher certification doesn't justify delivering subpar food.
The restaurant manager seems to think customers shouldn't post reviews about their bad experiences at his restaurant (indeed, he seems to think my statement that I would post a review about the experience and share it with others was an attempt to "blackmail" him), but that's exactly what sites like yelp & Google reviews are for. If he doesn't want bad reviews, he should either make food that tastes at least decent OR be empathetic when customers contact him about negative experiences.
After a lot of back and forth where the restaurant owner was rather dismissive, he conceded to returning some of the food cost in the form of restaurant credit. As I had no interest in returning to the restaurant given the terrible food AND service, I did not want to receive any store credit. I ended up contacting my credit card company to see if they could help resolve the situation. Again, this was after I tried to resolve the matter directly with the restaurant via several unreturned phone calls and many facebook messages where the manager treated my experience as "irrelevant" and "wrong".
BOTTOM LINE: DON'T EAT HERE. THE FOOD & SERVICE...
Read moreI came here with 2 other Yelpers and we all purchased their Groupon deal. I looked up Yelp reviews prior from purchasing the deal and was intrigued to try Tunisian cuisine. Got Kosher is a mix of North African, French and Jewish food. Sounds unique, right? Here's what I ordered:
Royal GK Burger- beef patty, crispy pastrami, avocado, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, chipotle mayo and served on a pretzel bun. -$16.99. There was nothing unique about the flavors or burger at all. The burger was juicy and tender and overall it was decent, but really for that price? It also came with a side of fries. I could have went elsewhere and paid a fraction for a burger and it would have been just as good, or even better.
We also ordered avocado egg rolls and it was served with cashew tamarind sauce. The rolls were good. I did not try the sauce.
Overall, this place is just okay and honestly I don't feel incline to return. Maybe, I should have ordered the traditional Tunisian food, but a burger was safe and it didn't blow my mind and really for $17? I'll pass next time.
This is a small restaurant with a few tables. They offer pastries as well, but I didn't get a chance to try them. The customer service was great and he was attentive.

Read moreGot Kosher is the best kosher bakery, deli, and more. By no means is GK a deli in the traditional sense. You can order the most delicious kosher delicacies by the pound. Ready made food that’s different every time. The variety allows for Got Kosher to be a go-to place when you want something new. And if you don’t? They have tons of great classics that never get old. Two words: JERUSALEM CHALLAH. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. If you want the restaurant experience, there is an attached restaurant next door, Harissa. Delicious.
Now that we know the food is good, let’s get more personal. The owners of GK are two amazing personalities that want to be your friend. They are on a mission to help provide a variety of flavors in the kosher world. If you are familiar with kosher, you may know that there is a limited variety of options when it comes to food. GK works very hard to give you a great experience.
I am very happy to be a new customer of this establishment. I enjoy supporting these people. May everyone reading this have a wonderful experience!!...
