This little “hole in the wall” Japanese cafe has the best chicken katsu in LA.

Super fresh, light and crispy katsu breading with juicy white breast meat, served in the bowl on soft, warm rice with a side of lettuce salad and topped with pickled and crispy veggies with lotus root slices.

It’s so simple but so thoughtfully, well made. Truly a little piece of authentic Japan here in a random strip center in Sherman Oaks.

I also had a nice warm cup of lightly sweetened Jasmine green tea on a cold day while waiting for my car at the dealer.

It’s a small storefront that seats about 12 total (4 individual seats + 2 tables of four) and provides a nice, calm ambience, with a very clean and tidy space. Nothing lavish but truly the perfect setting for eating some fresh Japanese home cooking. They also have an assortment of other sushi and Japanese dishes, along with crawfish here.

Left me on hold for 10 min then hung up on me. Called back to place my order and I asked for an apology, that was rude the lady said “it wasn't me that left you on the phone” does it matter yall suppose to be a team working in the same establishment. Take ownership. She proceeded to try and take my order without the apology and I told her she could shuv it and hung up. I promise you, she did not care. Prob happy she didn’t have to take another order. If you hate your job so much go find another job. Poor customer service should never be an option when dealing with continuous paying customers. Quaint little sushi spot with a bar table facing the window so you can people/car watch as you eat. This place is also inside the same establishment as Boiling Daddy. Peach and passion fruit tea with lychee was good. No extra charge for no ice. Had nice pieces of peaches. Sushi is also good but a bit small portions. Service was friendly and quick.
