Average! That's my sincere verdict on this place. Pho So 1 is by far superior. I don't know what other posts are saying, that this is the best pho in the valley??? I had pho ga (chicken) and, I'm sorry, but it didn't even come close to Pho So 1. I also had jackfruit shake, and it was average good. I drank it, and it had a jackfruit taste, nothing to wow about. I also tried the fried egg rolls, and again, Pho so 1 egg rolls are much tastier. The egg rolls here are crunchier, but the fillings and the overall quality is not up to par. The pork chops are decent here, but again, not as tasty as Pho So 1. Bun is also average here, unlike Pho So 1 where the combination of the items put together really compliments each other smoothly. Bun here is average. The only good thing I found was the price, it's very competitive. But Pho So 1 prices are just as competitive. People complain about service, but the service that they are looking for is not included in the price here or at Pho So 1, so go somewhere fancy/pricy for that quality service! The parking was a challenge, especially since the Armenian bakery in the corner of the same building was jam packed with people, with the line coming out the door. Some Armenian guy double parked his car behind my car, and this space was almost stolen by another aggressive Armenian lady driving a fancy new Mercedes, acting like the queen of Little Armenia. These people are willing to do anything to get a darn parking space, stressing all other visitors, including myself. Pho So 1 definitely has better parking. The food and the price is average at this place, but the parking is terrible with a bunch of smokers hanging next to the smoke...

I mostly work in downtown Los Angeles, but on the days when work brings me to the San Fernando Valley, I have a tradition, I always stop at New Phở 999. It’s not even a question anymore. After a long day, nothing resets me like a steaming, fragrant bowl of their pho.
I once asked the chef why the broth is so unbelievably good, and he told me they simmer the beef broth for over 8½ hours. That kind of care and patience shows in every sip…rich, balanced, and deeply comforting. I eat pho everywhere, Orange County, Koreatown, Downtown, but nothing compares to the authentic, family recipe here.
When I’m solo, I stick to pho (and sometimes a rice dish that I can’t finish and happily take home for the next day). When I bring friends, family, or my partner, we go all out, grilled meats over rice, vermicelli noodles, crispy egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls. Every dish is a hit, and often I’ll order extra just to bring home because it’s that good. And I can’t forget about the Vietnamese coffee… don’t drink a whole one to yourself if you’re not a real coffee drinker for this stuff is potent!
The staff are friendly, the portions are generous, and the flavors are unmatched. For me, New Phở 999 isn’t just a restaurant, it’s become a ritual, a little reward I look forward to whenever I’m in the Valley.
If you love pho, this is a must. If you think you’ve already had the best pho in LA, come here and prepare to be...

My fiancee and I went here for lunch and we got the Pho with three kinds of Beef, the Bun noodle bowl with bbq pork and shrimp, and an order of egg rolls.
We got our pho within a few minutes, and the rest of the food within 10 minutes. It was all so fresh and piping hot and delicious. I work in restaurants, so I usually notice small things: basil was fresh and not wilted, bean sprouts were fresh, all produce looked healthy, clean tasting meats, exceptional seasoning on everything. I love their dipping sauce/noodle dressing. It's a very thin pinkish sauce, but it's heavy on the fish sauce, which can be off-putting if done incorrectly, but they balanced it with just enough sweetness and spice.
The broth is excellent. Just a hint of curry in the background, mellow beefy flavor up front.
Trust the good reviews!!! This place is now on our list of go-to comfort food. Love at first bite.
I almost forgot the eggrolls!!! So hot and crispy and delicious, and the filling is similar to lumpia. You have to try them. Very...
