I'm from the east coast and have been to NYC many times. I can say this ain't NY style pizza. The place gives off an NYC vibe, but the crust is still just a little too thick like every other CA pizza joint out here, and the pie didn't taste seasoned at all. It didn't have that zing to it's flavor; the cheese was bland, the sauce was nothing special... I felt kinda cheated after paying $25 for a large pepperoni. Not worth it. Pepe's Buffalo Wings = Tyson Frozen Wings with Franks Hot Sauce!
I am not making that up. I walked in here on a Friday night to order a slice and I saw them making their wings with a big bag of frozen wings and a jug of franks hot sauce the size of a laundry detergent container.
Even more absurd, they did it even do it in the back where I wouldn't be able too see it.
How can you do such a bad job that you can't even do low quality right?
If they cut corners on something like that where else are they?
Clearly this is not an establishment that cares about the quality of food they put out there, unless you consider Tyson's to be high class.

I ran in here to grab a pizza after a late night of work. I chose Pepe's mostly out of convenience, but I will be going back. I ordered a basic cheese pizza, and everyone in the family was pleased. This is in line with traditional NY style with thinner dough and foldable slices. Good flavor and not heavy at all. I picked up my pizza about 10 minutes before they closed and ordered about 30 minutes before close. Usually, this runs the risk of a spot being more interested in leaving than making you good food.
