Top 40s music plays on the radio. The inside of the establishment is reminiscent of the late 80s, early 90s... and it still has the same comforting, welcoming feel.
It's nothing fancy, but it's definitely worth it. This isn't a gourmet place. This isn't a hole in the wall. It's just a place to get mojo potatoes from your childhood, a few slices of pizza, and a salad for less than $15. What a deal!
Honestly, for the value you get here based on the price that you're paying, this is one of the best lunch deals in town.
This spot is great for kids, lots of open table seating, good for local office workers in the area, and a low end place for tourists to visit.
Fried chicken, baked chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, mojo potatoes, steamed vegetables (previously frozen), and pizza. Lots of pizza. Smores pizza, Hawaiian, pepperoni, veggie, sausage, it's all great.
The salad bar is great too. It's Iceberg lettuce, and you can add all kinds of stuff to it like carrots, red cabbage, artichokes, olives, hot peppers, bell peppers. There's also about four or five different kinds of dressing as well including italian, blue cheese, Ranch, Thousand Island, Etc.
5 stars? Yes. This isn't the usual type of place that I go to. But in a crunch, or just when you want to reminisce about your childhood this place does what it does best. Good food, inexpensive, baked fresh right in front of you. Trying to find these old school buffets keeps getting harder and harder every year. So I'm glad this one is...
Read moreI’ve been coming here since i was a young child with my parents. And lucky now i am blessed for this place to bring my own. But today was one of the most disappointing visits i’ve had. Alex R, who seems to be a the new manager had the worst attitude in attending my family and I. We have a 5 yr old who is on spectrum, and only eats mojos, due to the pickiness of his food. Therefor we enjoy visiting shakeys since we can all eat and he can eat mojos. Now that being we only ordered 2 meals thinking since my child wouldn’t eat why pay for the extra meal. Now Alex approached us and asked us to pay for an extra meal and i had explained the situation he insisted we payed. I responded i would pay but to let me finish cause if i got up my child wouldn’t finish his food. And he insisted yelled at my face “NO NOW” I understand and know its his job. He’s young and all but i ask that he is talk to and realize kindness goes a long way. If i was in the wrong at first I understand , correct me but in the right way.. and tone. My child was terrified. It’s a family restaurant and its always important to create happy memories. Alex R has a very rude and unwelcoming attitude. One of the employees did agree he was rude and out of line. Sadly to say we left without eating. And i left in tears and my hungry child. I will not be coming back until you get...
Read moreWe ordered from Doordash and what a surprise. I've never had it and my husband wanted me to try their "Mojos". We were watching some old 80's commercials and that's when we decided to order some Shakey's. Way better than expected, affordable and tasty!
We ordered a combo - a white, thin crust pizza with basil, southern fried chicken and Mojos. I haven't had fried chicken in over 6 years and I'd have to say, it was moist and seasoned well. Nothing was overcooked or dry. I like the thin breading they use. The Mojos are delicious. The perfect thickness for a nicely seasoned potatoes. They are lightly crispy on the outside with tender potato on the inside. The white pizza was the perfect size. The crust was super light, crispy and I just loved the texture. Best thing about all this - it didn't upset my stomach! Super happy. All in all, a nice, old school treat when you want something vintage to bring you back to the pizza parlor/arcade days or even for a...
