First impressions are USUALLY everything. When you walk in the vibe is really upbeat and fun . They have all the great sports games on as well as really great music and a dimly lit but yet well and easy to see spaces.
The food was average as far as tapas go. Bacon wrapped dates were slightly overly sweet but the portion size in fairness was great and they were not terrible, I would give those a 3.5. The chicken sandwich on the menu served with parmesan fries requested on the side were amazing.
Service was where the ball was dropped. If the general manager reads this, please take a look at your server around 8:45 PM on 9/24. I myself am a food server so calling someone out is not my typical MO. But, I have a pregnant girlfriend who drinks water like it’s the apocalypse and if you’ve ever been pregnant and you know that you get thirsty fast and a lot. Not one time did our server get water for us without asking. At one point I grabbed our drinks and walked up to the bar and ask the manager/bartender. It seems like maybe they were flirting and were interested in talking to each other over helping guests. It was a very frustrating experience because when you go out to dinner, you expect that all the little things such as drink refills, sauce refills, requests made in timely manner etc. . Will be taken care of for you. This just wasn’t the case for us unfortunately. I understand that by not drinking and that by sharing items maybe our check was small and therefore not worth better service. . However, as a couple that is expecting a baby and under a month, we cherish our date nights because pretty soon we won’t have them as much anymore and yes we are on a budget because of our baby, but that doesn’t mean we deserve or should be treated less just because of the amount of money we spent. Truth be told, that’s the core issue, we felt like our service was not fairly provided considering our budget. It’s OK though because there are other places out there that will...
Read moreAs we went out on a Friday night before Christmas we decided to visit this bar. When we pulled up the place looked very busy filled with people wearing festive outfits. Pleasant music not too loud filled the air as we walked in. The windows were open and we first got seated in a very comfortable spot in the couch, however as it was cold we asked to move a little more inside. So we sat on the bar stool and our table had janga game and some menus. We dis not notice at first but Janga had the most hilarious writings on it’s pieces. You should go check this place out just to look at Janga! Wait staff was fast and got our drinks right away. They have giant selection of whiskey and we are not crazy whiskey drinkers, but the cocktails were delicious. We ordered Nutella pizza, but to be totally honest it was not good and we just left it. Great atmosphere, yummy drinks, friendly staff, what’s not to love! I passed by this place so many times but never actually noticed it. Will be...
Read moreInitially I was greeted right away and the server followed up to get me going almost instantly after I chose my seat. After placing my drink order, it took a while for it to arrive, and then I had to wait a while to be able to place my food order. Once the food came, I hadn't been given utensils or a napkin, so that was some more waiting.
I ordered the fish and chips and it was really tasty. I think it skewed too heavily into the fries, which there were a ton of, and a bit less fish than usual for the dish since it was fried in smaller pieces. Still, I walked away content (though it took a while for them to come by with the check, so I was waiting awkwardly with no drink or anything)
If they were a bit more quick on service, I'd say this could be 5 stars since everyone was very friendly and the food tasted good.
Separately, I got their pepperoni pizza. Definitely the best pizza I've had in LA (though I haven't had any from outside...
