Listen, I don't write Yelp reviews often. Unfortunately, tonight I am FORCED to write a review. I pray the owner of this ice cream shop sees my review. My brother and I came in tonight, 2/22/2024, at 9:45 pm. The worker was a young girl wearing a white bucket hat, black glasses, and black curly hair in a braid. For the love of everything good, please check the schedule and see exactly who this girl was by name. We walked in, and my brother said hello to the girl. She made eye contact with him, rolled her eyes, and walked away. My brother and I looked at each other very confused. She turned around and continued cleaning the counter behind her, so we waited. She said, 'Can I help you?' and I said, 'Oh yeah, hi. Can I try the honey lavender flavor, please?' She grabbed a tester spoon and scooped the ice cream without saying anything, stretched her arm, and gave it to me. I was looking down at my shoes trying not to make eye contact because I was nearly turning to stone. She continued to hold the spoon and started wiggling it to get my attention to hand me the spoon. My first thought was, this girl must not work here as an employee of any establishment on the face of this earth couldn't be this disgusting. I took the spoon, and she walked away to start wiping the counter behind her again. So I patiently stood there looking at her waiting for her to come back. My brother, at this point, went to use the restroom. She turned back around and just started staring at me. I said to her, 'Oh, I'm going to wait for my brother to come back to order.' I wish I could upload a video reenactment of the face she gave me next. She tilted her head to the side, gave me a huge exhale, rolled her eyes, and turned back around to again clean the counter behind her. At this point, my hands were sweating, and I stepped back to breathe and wait for my brother. My brother came back, and again she turned around, made a strange amount of death stare eye contact with no words. He looked at me just completely confused like, what is going on right now. He said to her, 'What is in the ube ice cream?' She looked at him, laughed, tilted her head, and said, 'That's a good question.' I am so surprised by my composure because at this point, I needed to sit down, grab a pen and paper, and start having a therapy session with this girl as this was the most abnormal behavior I've ever seen. My brother very uncomfortably said, 'Okay, never mind. Can I just get a scoop of the Cookie Monster?' She AGAIN silently went to the back, took some time, came back, and silently scooped the ice cream. As she was scooping, she said, 'Is there something you're looking for?' My brother said no, and she went on to stare at me. At this point, I learned this was her way of asking what I'd like to order. I asked for a small scoop of the honey lavender since asking for any other samples would have resulted in me leaving with a broken arm. My brother and I walked to the register, and she came up and said, '$10.90.' He tapped his phone with Apple Pay, and she walked away. He looked at me again confused since she walked away, and we had no ice cream anywhere near us. We stood there for a couple of seconds longer until I noticed she left the ice cream on top of the ice cream cabinet Every single time I've come to this ice cream shop, the ice cream is spilling from the top of the cup. Of course, this time we grabbed our half-empty, scraped clean off the top ice cream cups and ran for our lives. We stepped outside, and both had no words. My brother looked at me and said, 'Alright, most of the time I can understand that people hate their jobs and customer service sucks, but oh my god that girl was a -.' I hope this girl can soon find a job that does not drain every ounce of joy from her mundane life. To the girl in the white bucket hat and black glasses, you poor soul. Please find a deeper meaning...
Read moreI've been thinking about what to say. I can see the passion in everything they do. Believe me, everything is done to perfection. Including the shop itself. To exhibit how they make their Gelato and put the whole kitchen behind windows so we can take a peek into the fascination and wonder of making gelato. That is pride and a sense of "we know what we're doing." to boot. I wish I could say that I know what real Gelato tastes like. I spoke to a close friend who recently returned from Italy and tried TIFA gelato; they said the taste is better in Italy. For sure, this is not to imply that Tifa doesn't know how to recreate the taste of the motherland. It comes down to one small word that encompasses a variety of things. get ready for it: Ingredients, yes, I said that, right? ingredients. When I was told that, my whole world was turned upside down. It is so true. Think of a recipe that has to have specific ingredients from specific brands. If you use a different brand, it changes the taste. I think TIFA, like their shop, is doing its best to bring that bit of what they call home to our tastebuds. So we can enjoy that bit of Italy as close to it as they know how. I have posted a picture of what the shop looks like. The cookies do look amazing the ones I tried taste amazing. My fault for not having a glass of ice-cold milk so I could dunk my cookie in. The gelato has a silky texture, and flavors dance on your tongue rather than some others that I have tried. I have returned four more times. the next time I am there, it will be for the coffee. I think those cold nights will go great with a warm cup of coffee. Shout out to the workers who have educated me on some of their products to try. Stop by and have some gelato and coffee. maybe a cookie or three or four. Don't miss out make their shop your new favorite hangout. Tifa, get ready I'm coming for your...
Read moreAmazing!!! I can't believe it has taken me over a year to pop into this gem of a dessert heaven! They have a great variety of gelato flavors, cookies, chocolates, macarons & other baked goods. They have vegan options and a delicious sugar free gelato made with Stevia. The inside of the store is cozy with beautiful artwork on the walls. It has indoor seating, as well as plenty of outdoor places to sit and enjoy your gelato. It's located at The Vineyard at Porter Ranch which has plenty of parking & it's the perfect place to go grab dessert after lunch, dinner or the movies. Heck, you never need a reason to have dessert! You can sit or stroll while enjoying your treats. I was fortunate enough to meet Tony the owner & he was as welcoming and nice as can be! We will...
