Victory Caffe- Van Nuys — Restaurant in Los Angeles

My spouse told me about this small jewel hidden away at some strip mall on Victory Blvd. So I met one of my friends there for lunch. The place is small but very clean and has a few tables, it looks inviting. There's that huge menu over a counter where you can choose your meal whatever you like. And there are plenty of choices. Also quite a lot of vegan choices. We ordered our meal through a window. A nice young lady took our order and she was very accommodating regarding any small changes. We got a number and after a while got our food. My friend had scrambled eggs with roasted potatoes ( delicious), tomatoes, and as a side some fruits. As you can see in the photo very nicely plated. I had also soft scrambled eggs with bacon those incredible roasted potatoes and a sausage. I couldn't believe how huge and delicious this sausage was. It was more like a Bratwurst. LOVED it. My friend, who had seen plenty of moons go by in her life needed to go to the restroom. But they do not have a restroom for customers. Just so you know!! But they were kind enough to make an exception in this case for a senior. That was very kind of them to do. The only thing that really bothered both of us. More my friend than me. Actually because of that my friend doesn't want to come back because of that. I, for myself, won't be held back to go back to this great place. It wasn't very busy at all, it was us and a table with 2 behind us. When 2 women with 4 kids came in. I think they ordered something to go. Sitting themselves on the table next to us their kids are more or less going wild and totally out of control by screaming their lungs out and running around the table. Jumping up and down the chairs and their mothers or whatever they were couldn't care less. We could not have a conversation because it got so loud. At one point my friend and I had to speak up and told those 2 women to please control their kids. We would like to be able to have a conversation and eat our meal in peace. If your expectations aren't high, you might love it 👍🏼

The reviews and pictures fooled me into thinking my order would've been a pleasant experience. I ordered food through Uber Eats and it arrived in a very prompt time. My order consisted of a peanut butter acai bowl, avocado toast, and a turkey and avocado sandwich.

For starters, the avocado toast was terrible. The bread was soggy and this is about 30 mins after it was made. I don't know if they used calabacitas or bad avocados but it left such a bad taste in my mouth I spit it out and tossed the whole box out. The salad in this and the turkey sandwich box were nothing special but your typical mixed greens. I didn't eat either of them but they had a container of Italian dressing on the side.

The turkey avocado definitely contained real avocados and tasted better. It had turkey sandwich meat. I wouldn't order from this restaurant for a turkey avocado sandwich ever again. Some places specialize in it and this is not the restaurant for that experience. I ate one half and tossed the entire box out.

Last was the acai bowl. The fruit tasted fine. The peanut butter was definitely your regular cheap sugary peanut butter. I paid to add more on. It was my fault for having high expectations and really I just don't consume a great deal of a sugar.

My experience was not enjoyable. I think I have some great recommendations when it comes to restaurants. Your experience may be better. Because I literally threw my entire order out, I'm giving this the lowest...

My aunt and I found this little hidden gem one day after having had what seemed such a rough start to my day. Soon as I walked in I noticed my mood change, it went from blue to calm. The atmosphere in this caffe is so pleasant. We were greeted by the owner with a big smile, in a very nice, polite and friendly manner. Since it was our first time he made some food recommendations, we listened to and OMG! I got, I believe was a pesto sandwich with a salad on the side and my aunt got the spicy chicken sandwich also with a salad and both of them were BOMB 💣 I had a green juice which felt SO refreshing and nourishing and my aunt got a latte. We LOVED this place and the vibe of the owner so much that we had to come back to try the beautiful looking supreme waffle 🧇😍😍😍. If you visit this place the supreme waffle is a MUST!!!!!! You NEED to try it. So delicious 🤤…. The presentation of the food is just so beautiful as well it makes you almost not want to eat it 😍 they even put an orchid flower on the salad at it looks sooooo cuteeeee🥰🥰😍😍. Idk about you but to me it’s important how the food looks.😍😍😍! This is by far my favorite caffe in LA. After trying the supreme waffle, I kept craving it throughout my whole pregnancy 😩😩. If I could give 10 stars I would. The staff is the cherry on top of this place. Everyone is very respectful, helpful, nice and you will always see smiley faces when you come in. 1000% recommend...
