Much of the lighting here is provided by 10 pinball machines, about 50 cents to play, and it’s frequented by mostly friendly people who come in groups. It’s quite narrow inside, so it isn’t the kind of bar that would have things like karaoke or dancing, but it’s great to have a drink and catch up with friends or play pinball.
They serve about 5-10 craft beers and wine along with hot dogs (delicious) and chips (get jalapeño!). The workers are friendly and polite.
The place is pretty clean. There is ample seating in the front of the building for individuals and groups with limited group seating inside. Most of the seating inside is gonna be at the bar or standing by a pinball machine. There is a non-smoking back patio that has tables for groups of 2-6 depending how close you’d all like to sit with each other. You can smoke in the front. People also bring their dogs sometimes in the front and also back patios. The front seating is pretty much on the sidewalk kinda as an extension of the building. Lots of round tables and individual stools.
I think the place is great for small groups that don’t mind being close to strangers (it is a bit more spaced out in the back), but I wouldn’t recommend it for dates if you require some more privacy, and it isn’t the kind of bar you go to alone, BUT they are perfectly accommodating of people who are there alone as I was, and the people were all nice enough. It’s just that pretty much everyone there is there to hang out with their friends (nothing wrong with that!), and almost...
Read moreI really wanted to like this spot ...My husband and I had been talking about checking it out for a minute, but unfortunately, we were totally disappointed 😞 and I hated it ... First off, parking truly sucks. Second, the patrons are rude and entitled, which lets me know this is the culture that has been allowed to exist. Third, like there were way too many freaking DOGS, I mean, wtf is this a doggy park or a bar with pinball machines. I like dogs as much as the next person, but ain't nobody tryna go out and be skipping over dog piss 😒🤢👎🏾. Fourth, my husband ordered a sour, which cost $10, and it was only 10oz like we're in GD grade school. My sparkling whatever the hell that was awful and definitely not worth the $13. Fifth and truly offensive, wet soggy hotdog bun. I almost threw up in my mouth and had to spit that crap out my mouth. $40 down the...
Read moreGreat new pinball bar in Eagle Rock. They have a collection of 9 pinball machines that are rotated out frequently. They have a very nice collection of craft beer on tap with some bottle and cans. Plus if you are not a wine person try their awesome selection of wine.
The bar does have a dated feel to it which complements the mainly “Bally” pinball machines. Most games only cost either $.25 or $.50 to play. Very reasonable.
If you are an enthusiastic pinball player every Wednesday @8pm they have a triple elimination tournament. Nothing serious and a very social crowd.
I have not tried the food but they have pretzels hotdogs and a cool looking peanut machine.
Bringing he retro gaming world to Eagle Rock is a huge up.
Can’t...
