I am a combat veteran that has issues being in public. I carry2 very small pocket pets in a backpack carrier with me at all times that give me the necessary comfort to be around people. I explained this to the manager. But she did not care. I ordered my beer and food and my pets did not even wake up the entire time i was there. As soon as I started to eat i was told to finish quickly and leave. I came here because I had just moved into a house only a block a way. Their ad online at the time said "dog friendly". I am actually a combat veteran suffering with combat and POW related agoraphobia and severe PTSD. I keep these 2 small animals in a carrying bag. I informed the manager of my condition and that my animals, although necessary, would remain in their carrier for the duration of my visit. They keep me stable and without them I would have anxiety and irrational fear so severe that I would even have trouble leaving the house. I explained that these small friendly sweet animals were part of my therapy at the va. The manager said that she went to her office to search online to find out if she was required to respect this need or if she could legally throw me out. She sent the cook to my table twice to ask me to leave, and then a waitress that had not served me said that she would call the police if I did not immediately follow her to the door. I had paid over $80 for food and a beer I was not allowed to finish. My animals were not bothering anyone. They had slept the entire time I was there. On my way out, I attempted to again explain about the cause and severety of my psychiatric issues these animals were with me to eleviate, but she just hypocritically thanked me for my service and ordered me to leave. I had a severe panic attack on my way home and actually hid in someushes for about 45 minutes on my way home. Once home, I was unable to get out of bed for several days. This happened over a month ago. Today was the first day I attempted to step outside my house. The waitress that served me was nice and the musician Travern was especialy friendly. As this is bar is waking distace from my house, I am saddened and disappointed at their attitude toward a veteran asking nothing more than to be allowed to eat my meal and enjoy the music. The owners comments say that this place appreciates veterans, but this is the only restaurant or bar in the west valley that has thrown me out. That is not appreciation. It is contempt and hostility. Veterans deserve better than this kind of...
Read moreIf you've lived in the western edge of the SFV, you're probably already familiar with this local watering hole. If not, the Whiteharte is a fun place to immerse yourself in a replica of the traditional English pub experience. With an interesting multi-room layout, a bar brimming with character, traditional tin ceiling, and arguably the best patio view south of the boulevard; the only thing missing from this bar being a landmark of perfection, is a lack of commitment. What could be an immersive and beautiful experience is constantly undercut by the owner's desire to not provide a perfect replica English pub despite owning a perfect replica English pub. The English elements it does embrace in it's food and drink menu are lackluster, if not omitted entirely. Additionally, an otherwise spot-on British-invasion classic rock playlist is swapped for a Top 20 Club playlist, despite having no club atmosphere nor dancefloor. I look forward to the day Whiteharte's potential is reached, and to be clear I belive that potential is extremely high. However, until that time, I recommend Whiteharte as a place to pop in for a pint of Newcastle (for you culture nerds out there this is referred to in England as "walking the dog"), grab a patio seat, and catch some good views from one of the best-known...
Read moreLove this place but lately I can only assume is the owner has given terrible service. One incident that occurred is that I called I believe it was a wed or Thursday asking if they had the world series on. He stated yes and asked how many. I stated just me then he goes on to say the table is for 2 people or more and that he needs the table. I asked so if I come in alone you won't serve me? He begins to ramble and I hung up and showed up with a friend. Like seriously dude you aren't going to be busy on a Wed or Thu that you have to act like that. The 2nd incident I believe they were possibly short on waiters so he was serving. He came out initially for the forst drinks then never came back out. I had to flag someone down to get another drink. It was myself and two others and waiting on two more to join. He sat us down in this little bench that has the capability to turning into a bigger bench but didn't even bother. We had to ask another employee to make the table bigger. I get it times are tough right now but with this lack of service makes people not want to come! I have been coming to this place for 5 years ➕ and seriously would stop coming here if it wasn't for those...
