Terrible! They do not care about their customers but just want to rip them off and make a quick buck out of them without providing value. The small plate is definitely not worth $18. I always look to support small businesses and have been here a couple times but these guys are out of hand now. They try to charge you for everything. First off their rice and peas is a miss. It was dry. We ordered the jerk chicken plate and they gave us our order without including any sauce in there. Then when we asked for some they tried to charge us. I then asked is it not supposed to already come with sauce and they say yes so I show them they did not add it and want to charge. Smh itâs not the price itâs the principle of trying to scam your way into a buck anyway possible. We ordered 2 meals and they give us one tiny sauce for everything saying you gotta pay for the second one. CRAZY. Then making payments youâre charging your customers extra if theyâre paying with a card! Youâre a restaurant for crying out loud! You shouldnât have to penalize your patrons for paying with cards in 2021. Most establishments are rather trying to go cashless and encourage card to avoid all the extra hands. GET IT TOGETHER! The last straw, Youâre a Jamaican restaurant and canât even have beef patties available unless customer decides to wait 45 minutes. Who wants to wait 45minutes for beef patties? This is sad! Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. Unfortunately came with a friend from out of town and this is the first and last impression you have left on them. Good job. Word of mouth and first impressions are key. Wont...
Read moreI heard so many good things about this restaurant and was sooooo excited to try their food.
The only reason I am giving this place 1 star at most is because their food was actually very delicious but let me tell you why I am giving them 1 star. I paid a total of $60 for two large plates, one combination and one oxtail and 2 beef patties. I ordered at 5 pm in advance over the phone waited a hour for a call back to tell me my food was ready, did not get the call so headed over to get my order and see what was up. When I got there I told them I had a call in and they could not find my order and told me to hold on while they locate it, mind you I am already at a hour and 20 mins by this time finally at around 6:37, which is 23 mins before they close, they say they found my ticket but still no food. Multiple people walked up and placed orders and received their food before I was even given the my food. I finally get my food around 6:50 and drive home to eat it, upon opening the âLARGEâ plate of oxtails I ordered I was highly disappointed to find about 7 oxtails in the plate with a lot of rice and a side of cabbage. Despite the food being good I will most likely not be returning to this location. This restaurant needs to work on logistics so that the orders can flow smoothly and also portion per price size. They seem to not care about the experience of the customer and come off as very dismissive.
I love supporting my people but this...
Read moreWe used to drive many miles to eat at this restaurant. The good ...when its good its good. The bad....when its bad its very bad. Suffice to say. I love supporting the community even if I don't live there anymore. But with the recession and all. Money is tight. I don't believe its possible to give me what I think $30 dollars is worth. When it becomes cheaper to eat in then it is to eat out. That's a problem. So say I take 4 people and we all get a large plate that's $120 not including any drinks or patty's. Now for $120 I can make the same meal for 4 people with money left over. Now add to that a lack of consistency. The portions lack consistency. While the food is usually pretty good. If you have to drive 20 minutes like I do. You expect consistent food after a long drive. 3 stars cause while the food is good. There are tons of places to eat at that price point. In a city with so many people and even more choices to eat out. Owners don't think about that. So, for $120, I can cater at other spots and get more food; or I can just eat at a cheaper place. So, we are now asking where can we eat for $120 and get more bang for our buck. I may still eat here but the price point pushes me out and makes me find other options more than not. I can afford to eat here maybe once or twice every...
