Winchell's Donut House — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Packed house on a Saturday morning - large families taking up limited space. I asked the cashier for her recommendation of the Chorizo sandwich. She said it was her "favorite" so I gave it a try. Worse chorizo I've ever had - tasted like powdered meat from Taco Bell thrown on an everything bagel.

The cashier also spelled my name "Brent" as "Pred", which was then called out as "Pedro" and "Peter" when my order was ready.

After getting home, taking 2 bites of the Chorizo then making a three pointer into the trash can with it, I pull out my backup "safety" donuts to find she messed that up too!! I reach for my first choice, maple bar, and there's no maple bar to be found. A chocolate bar, but no maple. Wah wah wah....

Needless to say I will never waste $11.00 for a coffee and two correct donuts again. Sad day for Winchell's. Been going to Winchell's since I was a...

I mean it's a very basic coffeehouse experience but not in a negative way. Service on the handful of occasions here has been quick.

In fact, I must admit my last experience I ordered a coffee and donut and was freaking out internally having not felt my wallet anywhere on my persons. The worker saw me searching around (found it in my backpack) and just left donut and coffee in front of me and went on to someone else's more difficult order than came back to ring me up. That was just a kind feeling and such a rare one I would never have expected.

Location is small I recall about four tables most usually accommodated. Unlike other locations I didn't notice homeless people loitering inside (outside yes) so that way a positive considering Winchell's on I believe it is 7th St and Hoover? That has a permanent homeless residency...

Rude employee. It was vile. Trash spilling out all over the floor, tables were dirty, floors were so dirty I could feel the soles of my shoes sticking to the floor. Everything I ordered (I'm not exaggerating) he told me he was out of items to make anything I ordered off the menu.

ie: ham y cheese croissant, no cheese or croissant Chi vanilla latte....out Macchiato....no Expresso Only doughnuts out on display sitting on parchment paper on the back counter (5 glazed that's it) Egg, cheese y sausage sandwich...I got it but the sausage was bad and it had a vile taste like it was rancid, left unrefrigerated or extremely old.

This was the very first time ever I've experienced such disgust walking into a Winchell's. I went 2 blocks down to Dunkin left happy.

everything I attempted to order he didn't have or refused to make....
