Update: decided to give this place another try. The service was amazing. The $29.99 AYCE menu was absolute trash. Any decent sushi or rolls are now extra. For all you can eat all you get is basically large chunks of rice and crab immitation. A tinsy piece of salmon or tuna on top. If you are here for fish, go somewhere else.
Had great expectations for this place, sadly every minute turned to be an epic fail without possibility of redemption. Our server had no idea about the sushi off of the menu. Stating that she hates sushi and can't tell us about it.
Our bus boy was standing over our table as he was too busy watching the basketball game on television hanging next to our table. Though getting his attention was nearly impossible.
We opted for an all you can eat option. Our orders were coming out extremely slowly with down times for nearly 10 minutes between entrees. Each next order came with a larger chunk of rice and smaller piece of fish. We had to ask over and over for things that we ordered on round 1 while round 3 was already painstakingly slowly coming in. Last set of sushi was served on warm mushy rice. By the time we asked for our check some stuff still did not come in. Our server simply failed to even enter some of the things into the system.
The fish is very fresh and high quality. The sweet shrimp are simply amazing. The execution and service need major...
Read morePrice has gone up....but still great: Went to celebrate a friend's birthday and had the ayce lunch. Amazing quality and quantity for $23.95. It's $28.95 at dinner. That includes tea (ice or hot) and a small cup of delicious ice cream for dessert. Each person gets 5 items per round, for up to 2 hours of ordering, but of course you can stay and finish long after that. The food comes out fast, so they don't make you sit around trying to stall your food orders to save money. It's all fresh, delicious and varied. Really nice fried and baked items, and the raw seafood was very fresh. Nice rolls, with a thin layer of rice as well. Definitely quality. It's the same food as if you were ordering a la carte. Only the carpaccio sashimi has an extra charge: 99 cents for first round, $1.99 second round, $2.99 third round. We all left stuffed and very satisfied. The only thing not great was the teriyaki chicken and beef. Both came out only tepid, with a goopy sauce, and the beef was very tough and chewy. Skip those. But everything else was delicious. For around $30/pp including tip ($5 more for dinner), you can't beat it. It was so great I went back 3 days later with another friend had it again! I'll go again in another month....
Read moreUnfortunately won’t be coming here anymore. My fiancé and I have come here three or four times in the past six months and each time has been worse than the last in service and food. The first two times the food was good but service was eh. The last two times were horrible service and the food was worse. Tonight, Thursday night, our waitress started off by not asking us if we wanted drinks and took our paper away without saying anything. We had to stop her and tell her we wanted some drinks. Then after the first round, she didn’t bring us our paper back to order our second round. We waited for 25 minutes for just the paper…then 45 minutes more for an order of nigiri! I got up and told the person at the sushi bar that we had been waiting for an hr and just wanted the check at that point. Only then is when the nigiri finally arrived. We understand being busy because that is in our line of work as well, but whoever is in charge of this restaurant had this waitress waiting tables and hosting at the same time. She never checked in on us during that hour and our waters were never refilled once. Horrible management and at the same time sluggish, unapologetic service from the waitress. Time to find a...
