Stephanie's Cheesecakes — Restaurant in Los Fresnos

I am really sad that my daughter’s cake did not come out what I had ordered. I called asking if they do flat sheet cakes and they told me yes. they said they could do a two tier flat sheet cake with the 2nd tier being a top layer lemon & bottom layer cheesecake The 1 top tier just pure vanilla. Well it was the complete opposite. It was two round cakes, also not even tier on top of each other. I had to put the top cake on the bottom which is the bakers job not mine. If they were worried about it sinking they shouldnt have made such a heavy cake. PLUS It’s been done before with many other bakers too. The cheesecake was such a thin layer of cheesecake to where I didn’t even see the cheesecake when cutting. AND the cheesecake was with the vanilla cake not with the lemon like I had ordered.

At first when they told me it was miscommunication that they don’t do flat sheet cakes I let it slide (even though they said they could) But when I saw such a thin layer of cheesecake with the wrong flavor .. is why I’m writing this review. I paid 210-220 dollars for a cake that was not worth it unfortunately. The flavor is decent but with the wrong mishaps it was not worth it. The design wasn’t matching the price either.

I didn't think they were the best cheesecakes. I was not impressed. I did not appreciate that I verified the schedule before paying them a visit, taking a drive from Brownsville to Los Fresnos only to be told they had to close early due to an event. I believe the operating/service hours advertised to the client should be respected as posted. I wasted time and gas driving over there. I was not the only one there that day. I saw 2 other customers leaving bummed about the unannounced early closure for the day. I tried asking if I could just be sold a slice being that the staff was working and they said no. I understood it was not up to them. About a week later I decided to get over my previous experience and took another drive over to Los Fresnos just to find out why people left so bummed...I mean, they had tried their cakes and I had not. I imagined the cakes would be out of the ordinary. I had to find out for myself. So I made it inside and shared my first time unlucky experience, and nobody seemed to care. I thought, "OK.
