Stopped by here for lunch on a Saturday. The menu is varied with all of the standard Mexican fare. The also have a bar just behind the counter so you can get a margarita if you want. They seem to have some high quality Tequilas available.
I ordered a shrimp burrito since their chicken is thigh meat. Somehow I got the chicken one though but they quickly replaced it. The burrito had a nice light sauce over it and the plating and presentation was nice. The flavor wasn't spectacular but it was good.
The prices aren't cheap, (this is after all Los Gatos) but they weren't outrageous either.
Watch out for the quesadilla price though. I saw a lady arguing with the cashier about the price and thought she was crazy. But when I looked at the menu I saw that she was absolutely right. The way it is worded on the menu, it leads you to believe that it comes with meat. But at the end of the description it notes an extra $3 for meat. Well if meat is not included then why does the description mention meat at the beginning? It's kind of misleading.
But overall this is a pretty good place for...
Read morei always say, how can you tell if a place is good? enty of seating both inside and out back. As I got in line I noted that they have a full bar, a fresh squeezed orange juice machine, beer, Mexican sodas and more. The menu is straight forward, everything is made fresh and they have locally sourced food and USDA choice meats. I ordered El Presidente (say that with me, El presidente) burrito and wifey got the fresh grilled fish burrito. After we placed our ordering went to the Pico bar. I tried 3 different ones, all 3 are excellent, super fresh with great flavor. My burrito was amazing from the first bite I could taste the grilled chicken then my mouth exploded with the taste of their homemade pico. It had fresh crisp flavors in every bite, don't even get me started on the shrimp, sooooo ggggoooood! To drink I had a horchata, honestly it was meh at best. The table service is great and they stay on top of cleaning the tables. As soon as a patron would leave the table was cleaned (hard to do considering how busy they are) Overall this is a great place and I definitely recommend...
Read moreMuch pricier than your average Mexican restaurant, but good quality ingredients. Frustratingly stingy with their salsas and toppings. Last time, I paid $20+ for quesadillas, and was disappointed to get less than a tablespoon of guacamole. This wasn't a one-time slight, begging for reasonable topping portions for large orders is the usual dance. (Even if you order for 5-6 people, they're not allowed to give you containers for the free toppings; they're supposed to make you use the individual thimbles which hold enough salsa for ~3 chips.)
There's also no separate line for to-go orders and the cashier(s) are the bartender(s), so you can call in an order and still wait forever while your food sits out and gets cold if there's a line or a run of drink orders ahead of you.
Everyone who works here is lovely, they just seem to be bound by stingy policies and an inefficient...
