Copeland’s Restaurant in New Orleans delivered a dining experience that was both refined and memorable, with flavors that captured the essence of Louisiana cuisine while offering an elevated touch. We began with the Shrimp Cakes with Tasso Butter Cream, and this appetizer set the tone beautifully. The Gulf shrimp and crab cakes were perfectly crisp on the outside yet tender within, while the Tasso butter cream sauce added a smoky richness that paired harmoniously with the green onions and Parmesan cheese. It was an elegant starter that showcased both flavor and creativity. For entrées, the Blackened Redfish was exceptional. The filet was expertly seasoned and seared, offering that signature Creole spice without overwhelming the natural flavor of the fish. Served with Creole shrimp rice and a choice of side, it was both hearty and satisfying. Adding filet of redfish proved to be well worth it for those who appreciate generous portions of high-quality seafood. The Salmon Oscar seared with herbs, garlic sautéed shrimp and spinach, red hot potatoes, hollandaise sauce was another standout. It was tender and juicy with a delicate char that complemented the richness of the fish. From start to finish, Copeland’s impressed with its attention to detail, quality ingredients, and commitment to Louisiana-inspired flavors. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, making it an ideal choice for both special occasions and casual evenings out. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of New Orleans with sophistication and flair, Copeland’s is a must-visit.

Copeland’s Restaurant offers a fantastic Southern ambiance that truly enhances the dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a great meal. Our server was exceptional—punctual, attentive, and engaging, ensuring that all our needs were met while also making us feel welcome through friendly conversation. For my entrée, I had the crayfish fettuccine, which was packed with rich, wonderful flavors. We also sampled a variety of appetizers, including crab cakes, deep-fried noodles with artichoke dip, a pizza-like crab dish, and a chicken ball-style offering. Each was delicious in its own way, but the standout for me was the pizza-like crab dish—so flavorful that I would have happily had it as my main course if the portion were larger. Dessert was just as impressive. I enjoyed the bread pudding, which was drizzled with a decadent rum-flavored glaze—absolutely delicious. Others at the table had cheesecake, but as much as I appreciate a good dessert, cheesecake tends to be too rich for me to finish. Overall, this was another wonderful visit to Copeland’s. This marks my third time dining here, and I’m already looking forward to a fourth. If you're looking for a restaurant with great food, excellent service, and an authentic Southern feel, this is definitely a place worth visiting!

04JUL24 ~ Almost a Five Star review. Our food, both appetizer & main courses, were excellent, tasty. Our waitress, Sheena, was as good as they come, and the atmosphere was classy and upscale. The smallish portions for the price was the reason for the Four Star review. Our Bayou Broccoli appetizer was to die for. Outstanding taste with green onion, shredded cheese, and bacon bits topping with a tasty sauce on the side. I had the catfish platter. It was South Louisiana spicy great and cooked just right. My wife had the Eggplant Pirogue and it was nothing short of outstanding (I tried some!). The only negative was that they advertise 'crab claws' as an ingredient, but there was only one crab claw. Our son had the seafood platter and really liked his meal. Our waitress was everything you could ever want in a waitress. She was genuinely friendly/great intrapersonal skills, intelligent/fast on the uptake, exceedingly articulate, helpful & knowledgeable about the menu items. She always seemed to come by at the right time, not too much & not too little. Our glasses never went dry. She was well invested in doing a good job for and representing Copeland's well. Thank you! There was ample parking and plenty of handicapped parking, which we use and appreciate.

On Sunday /31/25 we arrived at 1/:30am with a party of 15. The hostess Ms. Kenya told us the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. All of our party was present. No one was ahead of our party. The manager Ms. Lala came to the host desk and told us she would be looking out for a space to seat us. We all were seated around patiently waiting to celebrate our new Air-force cadets departure. We observed them seating small parties of two sometimes four. 10-20 minutes into our wait another large party of 10 arrived. The hostess seated that party before us. I inquired why and expressed how unfair it seemed. I felt we would never be seated if they kept seating large parties. I asked why we were not given the option to seat 10 together and 5 at another table, the hostess stated that’s not the policy. In my persistent statement of the unfairness, the tone of the hostess changed and she became loud, so loud others in the area, including some of my party became offended. We asked to speak with a manager and Ms. Lala appeared. At this point my party was so frustrated. We no longer directed our conversation to the hostess but to Ms. Lala. The hostess refused to stop being involved. She was loud enough for the diners to hear. She made statements such as its policy and made attempts to tell us that we could not tell her how to speak or when to speak. She stood in position as if we were engaging in a street fight. Our distaste was vast at how Copeland’s managers and staff are not equipped in managing people. I had to request that the hostess be removed from the communication. Ms. Lala was pulled to the side so the communication excluded any others. She agreed we should have been offered the option of being seated separately before seating the party of 10. She immediately located 8 seats to resolve some of the tension. At this point my party was so disgusted at how we were treated we decided to leave. We choose another venue nearby and made a promise to ourselves that our day would not be ruined by such poor customer service. To Copeland’s lost we gave our $1,000.00 to Zea’s. Good customer service is so necessary for a business to thrive. I love great customer service and have at times scored venues greater than 5. I don’t have a number-score for Copeland’s today based on my experience but I do know it was overwhelmingly NEGATIVE. In order for me to post this review I am forced to select a rating number. So I...

First, I address the fact that this particular Copelands does not deserve to be granted a single star. However, by default a star is required to proceed with this review.

I placed an online order at the Harvey location for 5 meals on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 7:07 pm. Upon my arrival at 8:00 pm, it took an additional 45 minutes for the food to be brought to me. I checked my bag and noticed that a burger was missing. I advised the curbside attendant (older white lady) that a burger was missing. She stated that she would check on it. Thereafter, I waited 20 minutes and heard nothing. I called the restaurant again to check on the status and the same curbside assistant stated that the “kitchen said they put the burger in the bag, come in and bring your receipt.” I went inside of the restaurant and provided the bag of food and receipt. The curbside attendant stated that they were not able to cook the burger because the restaurant was about to close. She advised that they could give me something else that wouldn’t take too long to make. I stated that my burger should be refunded and I should be given a replacement meal for my inconvenience.

The manager, Timothy Reeves (older white male) refunded the $13.99 burger, but was reluctant to substitute the meal with something that could be conveniently fixed. Further, there was no apology for the inconvenience. The curbside attendant stated that she asked the kitchen to give chicken tenders meal, but they fussed at her saying they weren’t giving out free food. However, I spent over $100 on an order, and the restaurant complained about $8 tender meal. Further, the manager didn’t require the kitchen to rectify their mistake. The manager walked away from me when I was explaining my long wait (1.5 hours) and how the workers lied about fulfilling my order. This was the worst experience at this Copelands. I patronize this location weekly, however, due to the lack of customer service and competence, I will not be dining or ordering from this restaurant. The manager and workers are incompetent and need customer...

We arrived at Copeland’s at 5:00 PM for a party of eight. The host informed us that we would need to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a table. During our wait, I noticed that the host seemed more focused on her conversation with two coworkers than on assisting guests. Additionally, she directed another group to a table without providing them menus, prompting them to return to the host station to ask for them.

We were finally seated at 5:30, but then we ended up waiting an hour for our food. When it arrived, all of our dishes were cold except for one. One guest sent their meal back, and another requested a refund. Although we considered sending our food back as well, we didn’t want to create more issues. Our server mentioned that he was inexperienced and still learning, which added to our frustration. We were particularly upset that such an inexperienced server was assigned to a party of eight.

Overall, we felt that we had wasted our money; we expected five-star food, but received neither five-star service nor quality. To make matters worse, it was my birthday, and when I requested a birthday dessert, the server informed me that they no longer offered that. This was the main reason I chose to celebrate my birthday at Copeland’s. I am 100% dissatisfied and will never return.

Furthermore, while we didn’t blame the server for being inexperienced—he was very kind—we found it unacceptable that we had to pay an automatic 20% gratuity. We felt this was unwarranted given the terrible service we received. Although we did tip on top of the gratuity, the service we experienced did not meet our expectations. We were also brought food we did not order. Additionally, when we received our receipts, we noticed that a guest’s food item that had been sent back was still listed on our bill. Food no one ordered at the table was on our bill as well. Overall, it was a horrible experience. A manager did not come to speak with us or check on us. Copeland’s needs...
