This place would get a 0 stars if it was available. I don't know the hype about this place but this is the most disgusting tasting food I've ever had in New Orleans. Let me break down this disaster. I picked up the lamb entree, crawfish bread, jambalaya with friend fish, and the Peewee Spicy dip.
I can tell that everything was already prepared and warmed up in something like a microwave.
The lamb was overcooked and tough, while the shrimp were definitely warmed up in a microwave as it was soggy, the salad was ok because everything else was so bad including the mayo heavy crab cake.
The jambalaya sauce was ok but the sausage was disgusting. I dont know what brand they use but they need another vendor I wouldn't be surprised if it was D.D. Sausage as most jambalaya is from more west like Gonzales it's best to use manda or even local veron sausage. The fish breading fell off before even making a bite. Once again probably microwaved.
Crawfish bread. Why cheddar? Cheddar does not work with this dish.
Peewees spicy dip. It had maybe 3 crawfish tails and about 20 jalapeƱos slices. It was so many jalapeno slices I wouldn't have thought this was a dip because they absorbed all the cheese.
The best tasting thing was the "Ruffles" that came with the dip.
I couldn't recommend to this place. I see if a few things are bad but everything is a whole another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove the Gentilly location. Went in this one to order same thing I always get and it tasted completely different. Jambalaya didnāt have any flavor. It needed salt but still edible but I didnāt enjoy eating it. shrimp was alright just basic shrimp.i know for a fact it was put in microwave. I know how fried shrimp tastes when itās just fried . Way too soggy . Iāll bet my last dollar it was. Still the other location shrimp & jambalaya was a million times better. Now that crab cake ! Yikes. Time to change the recipe I only took two bites couldnāt do anymore. Wayyyyy wayyyyyyyyy to greesy and idk taste just was not giving. Just taste like wet fried bread. Without bread if that makes sense. I couldnt eat even swallow it. Just didnāt taste right to mushy, thin . Not cakey at all. I love supporting black businesses but the small very small amount for the price is insane. When I use to order this at the other location it use be like $15 or even cheaper now itās $20. Definitely definitely can go to other places with $20 plate that could last the entire day. Wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently dined at Pee Weeās in Harvey and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredibly lacking. Despite being greeted promptly, the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout the entire meal. The real disappointment, however, was the food. Despite the enticing menu descriptions, the dishes lacked any discernible flavor. It was as if the chef had forgotten to season the food altogether. Each bite was a disappointment, with no depth or complexity to the flavors. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes was underwhelming, lacking the finesse one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It felt as though little care was put into the preparation and execution of the meals. Overall, my experience at Pee Weeās was highly disappointing. With lackluster food and subpar service, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow diners. Save your money and seek out a dining...
