I can't lie! The first time I went a few months ago and it was great. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed it. I went this past Monday and it was horrible!! Nothing like the first time! We thought we were in two different restaurants. Management or something had to change because it was nothing like the first time. We had horrible service and pretty bad food. When we first arrived we were greeted by our server. It was obvious she was new and still in training which is why we were upset that no one assisted her. She was nice but very inexperienced and asked us to pay for our drinks immediately as if we weren't about to order food that we never got menus to do in the first place. My bf had to make his own drink and grab our menus. The first girl who greeted us and her coworkers seemed to be more concerned about doing their side duties than assisting us. Both girls kept going missing. It took a while for the second girl to even ask us for our order. When she finally did she immediately tried to get us to order our entrees right after we ordered our appetizers claiming that the kitchen would be closing soon. The sign on the building said they closed at 10 and it was only 8:25 PM so I assumed they were closing at 9. Even still it was very rude and unprofessional to demand someone to order entrees before receiving their appetizers 35 minutes before closing. From my restaurant experience a customers has a right to place a order up until close or 10 minutes before. We also observed people being able to place orders after we were rushed to place ours. Of course our pizza/entree came out before our appetizers and the lady manager with blonde hair just non-chalantly dropped them off and was like yea they came out before your appetizers but it happens. Sorry! Yea! It happens when you rush your customers to order their entrees! The pizza was nothing like it was the first time . It didn't have half the toppings. It was super thin and looked as if they barely put anything on it!! Nothing was fat about that pizza! Appetizers came about 10 minutes later and were horrible. Wings were not cooked hard as I requested and the meatballs were dry and blan! No flavor what so ever! We had to ask repeatedly for refills, to go boxes, etc. Again the servers were nice but they were way too concerned with their side duties and I think that had a lot to do with management. I was beyond disappointed. They are way too pricey to be that disappointing. I will...
Read moreThe pizza was large and scrumptious, a veritable feast for both the eyes and the stomach. Its crust was a perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with a golden-brown edge that hinted at the deliciousness within. The base was sturdy yet tender, providing the perfect foundation for the toppings without being too thick or too thin.
Spread generously across the pizza was a rich, tangy tomato sauce, its vibrant red color contrasting beautifully with the creamy white of the melted mozzarella. The cheese was gooey and luscious, stretching delightfully with each slice I pulled away. It had just the right amount of saltiness and melded seamlessly with the other ingredients.
The toppings were an array of fresh and flavorful ingredients. There were savory slices of pepperoni, their edges slightly curled and crisp. Bright green bell peppers added a crunch and a slight sweetness, while the mushrooms brought an earthy depth to each bite. Scattered throughout were juicy chunks of sausage, seasoned perfectly with a blend of herbs and spices.
Every bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The tang of the sauce, the richness of the cheese, the savoriness of the meats, and the freshness of the vegetables all came together in perfect balance. It was clear that great care had been taken in selecting and preparing each ingredient, resulting in a pizza that was truly exceptional.
The sheer size of the pizza meant that each slice was a substantial offering, ensuring that every mouthful was as satisfying as the last. It was the kind of meal that lingered in my memory, not just for its deliciousness but for the sheer joy it brought...
Read moreI really, really, really wanted to love this place. It is right around the corner from my house and the concept of huge pizza by the slice NYC style is great.
I went with my son and we each ordered a slice each. We sat outside and after less than 10 minutes my pizza was delivered. The waitress seemed confused that there was 1 piece of pizza, but 2 people. I told her that my son had ordered the meat pizza and she said it would take a little bit longer for his to come out because their pizzas are so big. I waited about 5 minutes to begin eating my pizza, but eventually didn't want my dinner to get cold.
The pizza was really good, but it isn't easy to mess up pizza unless you are talking about a chain place. I almost wished they would have served it with a paper plate so you could better manage the slice like you can in NYC.
I managed to eat my slice and drink my entire 23 oz beer without so much of a glace from the waitress. Because I am not a "can I see a manager? type of diner, I waited another 10 minutes (yes I set my timer because I am OCD). I found the waitress inside and asked her about my son's food. Without any hesitation or concern she pointed towards the half dozen men in the kitchen area and told me, "The boss is over there".
The owner/manager could not have been more apologetic and within a few minutes a different server delivered my son's slice plus a makeup slice to us.
Maybe my experience was just a hiccup and Fat Boy's thrives, but there is way too much competition in NOLA for my dining dollar. I am not saying I won't be back, but next time I won't be putting a 20% tip on the bill before I...
