Ok, so I had previously reviewed this particular IHop and it was an OK experience, so I decided to go there again. Unfortunately, this time I had a very uncomfortable exchange with our waitress. We sat down and our order was taken quickly (we went on Father's Day). We were greeted immediately and the waitress was knowledgeable. The problem actually came in AFTER we ate. The last time we ate at this IHop location the tip for the waitress was automatically added to our bill (which we don't mind because it's convenient) so when we paid this time, we didn't leave a tip on the card because we thought it was automatically charged because that's what happened previously. Thinking nothing of it, we left a cash tip on the table and headed to our vehicle. As we're getting into our vehicle the waitress comes running out of the restaurant with our receipt in hand, to demand a tip 😳. I was confused because I've literally never had a waitress hunt me down for an additional tip before. I informed her that I left her a cash tip in addition to the automatic gratuity and she said that the gratuity is no longer taken automatically, so I needed to leave her a tip on my card in addition to the cash tip I already gave. My biggest problem with this entire situation is the fact that other patrons were staring at us thru the restaurant window probably assuming that we dined and dashed because of the way the waitress literally RAN outside to chase us down, waving the receipt in her had, demanding a tip. I was so EMBARRASSED. I will never go to this IHop again and I won't recommend anyone I know to go there either. To chase us down and demand an additional tip AFTER I already gave you a cash tip...
Read morePlaced an order, payed it and went for pick up at the time given. Only I got the order half an hour later. There was a family in the waiting booth that told me that they've been waiting for an hour. I soon realized that the staff was putting their attention to some oilfield workers who all ate together and wanted separate checks (one of the most annoying things to do to a waiter). The poor family soon left and wished me luck. I myself am a oilfield man, and hate it when food places ignore the locals to attend the oilfield workers. These local families are the ones who keep your business running when we're gone and they deserve more respect. So I finally got my order and they didn't add utensils, salsa or syrup. This is why I don't like to pay ahead when ordering. It seems like you have no option but to wait for your order and have bad service or no service at all because you have already payed for your meal. Ihop you need to change your payment to pay up front. I don't want to pay full price ahead and get my food cold again. Give me the option as a customer to deny payment to bad service or cooked meals gone cold. This place either needs more staff to attend others when they need seating or just better management. Be considerate for others and always...
Read moreI went into IHOP for my pre birthday breakfast. It wasn't crowded and I was seated within a minute of my arrival. The server was really nice and attentive. I was approached by another server after I placed my order she was so nice and she introduced herself. Once I received my food I was asked if everything was okay and I was also asked if I needed anything else. Five stars with a minimum of a 15% tip I'm thinking to myself. But, once I received my change which should have been $8.50 the server tells me here is your change I have the $8.00 but I don't have the .50 OH REALLY! I didn't say anything I gave her a $1.00 bill to go with that damm .50 that she didn't have. This is a trend that has become increasingly popular in the service industry. You do not get to decide how or what I tip you I do. One if the servers told the table behind me you have $2.34 coming back (where he'll is it?) The guy just told her to keep it. I tip based on the server even if the food isn't good I still tip based in the server because the server did not prepare the food. Next time I'm told something like this I'm not...
