ittle Tokyo is great sushi restaurant.
Located off the beaten path on Asbury St., Little Tokyo may be the best sushi place on the Northshore. The restaurant is very small inside and the parking outside is odd (parallel parking on the side of the building), but their service and food is very good.
Service was excellent. The restaurant wasn't full and we were seated immediately. We had two excellent servers. One of the servers was brand new, but she did an incredible job.
Upon seating everyone at the table was brought a bowl of clear broth soup. It had noodles and was very good. They did bring us a spoon, but that may have been because we had children with us.
We started with an appetizer of gyoza which was very good. We ordered some cooked dishes for the kids which were massive. They actually let us order the lunch portion since it was for kids, but it was still enough that they could have shared.
Our rolls were very good to excellent. The rolls came with 6-8 pieces per roll and two was more than enough food for one person. The rolls were reasonably priced and amazingly fresh.
We really enjoyed our meal at Little Tokyo and will...
Read moreI USUALLY LOVE LITTLE TOKYO, SO I RECOMMENDED THAT MY WORK PLACE ORDER FOR LUNCH. FIRST, I PAID FOR A $30 ORDER AND THEN THEY TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE CUCCUMBER AND WOULD I LIKE TO CHANGE TO SOMETHING ELSE (KEEP IN MIND I ALREADY PAID). I HAVE TO CALL MY COWORKER TO ASK HER IF SHE WANTS SOMETHIMG ELSE. AFTER WAITING FOR ANOTHER 20 MINS FOR MY ORDER WHILE THEY MAKE THE NEW ROLL, IT WAS THE WORST SUSHI THAT WE HAVE EVER EATEN. TWO OF THE ORDERS HAD BURNED SESAME CHICKEN, ONE ORDER HAS ROE WHEN SHE SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR NO ROE, SUSHI WITHOUT RICE WAS SOGGY AND ABOUT THE SIZE OF A NICKEL AND MISSING ANY TYPE OF SAUCE. I WILL SAY THAT WHEN WE CALLED TO COMPLAIN TO A MANAGER THE OWNER WESLEY GOT ON THE PHONE AND GAVE US ALL CREDIT FOR OUR BILL. I HOPE THAT THIS WAS A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE BECAUSE NORMALLY I LOVE THIS PLACE. I JUST ATE THERE A FEW NIGHTS AGO AND IT...
Read morePicked up my granddaughter from class, she, my grandson and I ate there tonight. They wanted to get sushi, and due to seafood sensitivity, I didn't, so my granddaughter suggested this place because I could get something besides sushi. I got fried chicken strips, a wonderful salad, and fried rice. Granddaughter got umami noodles with tempura vegetables, and after looking at sushi, my grandson got a crab salad with avocado, and we all were disappointed that we couldn't eat more. It was absolutely delicious. Started out with soup, very fast service on drinks and main dish.y only regret is that I will shortly be going back to my home out of state, do won't be able to enjoy this place until my next visit. I am a 68 year old Nana, and a 14 and 11 year old grandchild doesn't necessarily have the same taste as a Nana. So this was a very easant surprise. I...
