The 3 main negatives first. Got the 20oz ribeye. Was over cooked and the flavor was very lacking. Despite us asking how the steak chef was before ordering to know of my girl wanted medium rare or medium. We went with medium and got well done. Luckily we did not go with a more expensive meat or we would have sent it back for another which we rarely if ever do! The broccoli was basically steamed but had no seasoning or flavor. There was a huge gap in the times the waiter checked on us at lunch time despite there only being 2 tables actually seated in the entire restaurant aside from us. We were in a rush but luckily had some time to spare since we had a meeting get moved. The bread is okay but is no Texas Roadhouse for sure! Make sure you get at least 2 butters for the big piece of bread though if you like butter. The appetizer of the shrimp poppers were good to me. The jalapeños were hot which was good for me but too much for my girlfriend. The onion rings were good. The salad was a salad so that's hard to mess up usually. The chicken strips were cooked perfect and the batter was good but that country gravy they serve them with was pretty bad! I got BBQ sauce too luckily but the BBQ sauce was too sweet for me. Wish I would have ordered some ketchup to mix in the bbq sauce too. The asparagus was seasoned well. Could have had some sea salt sprinkles added but was still good. It was more steamed than charred though which we like our asparagus thin and with a nice crunch to it. All in all for a steak restaurant where the steak should be your best cooked thing on the plate I give this a 1 star experience and enough to not go back. This is just our personal taste buds telling your our opinion so you may think it tastes amazing but we eat at Ruth Chris, The Chop House and many other steak restaurants and this is right there with a waffle house steak to us but just thicker. Even though the waiter's attention was lacking and he forgot a couple things we still tipped well. Definitely was not worth the $85 for lunch though! Sorry to say but we will not be back there for a steak!

First and foremost I love saltgrass food and I especially love their rosé margaritas the bartender is always nice and makes a great drink but I always go for lunch. Last night I went for dinner they were closing down early and they only had enough for one frozen rose margarita. My waitress was very rude and rushing us to order. When she bring my frozen drink it was completely watered down with no sugar on the rim mind you I come here quite often for lunch and my drinks and food is always made with perfection never had a complaint until I decided to go for dinner I notified my server that my drink was water down and it wasn’t frozen nor did it have a sugar rim how it normally comes she was very nonchalant about it and called the manager over once I explain to him he was like well what do you want me to do I can’t compensate it or remake it for you so I asked him to remove it from the bill my boyfriend told me to show him pictures of me coming here before and how my drink was properly made on other days, but I can tell from the managers persona he had no sympathy and felt no need to remake my drink he just removed it from my bill No apologies or nothing. He was completely rude and he should not be a person in position if he’s going to treat his customers like that

A little bit of a late review but life has finally gotten back towards normal after getting married! We came here on the evening of March 28th with my relatives for Denmark, before they left the next day back to DK! We got Javier as our waiter and he was WONDERFUL! Great personality, so cheery and friendly, always had a smile on his face, and he was on his A Game! We didn’t have to want for anything, as soon as we needed it he got it. He really just did awesome. One of the best server experiences I’ve had, for real. The food was also phenomenal. My husband is a master steak chef (in my opinion haha) and we often find it hard to spend so much money on a subpar steak when he can make one at home that’s (usually) so much better for so much cheaper, but the steaks we got here were really just on point!! Cooked and seasoned to perfection. I got the filet and he got a ribeye and we both enjoyed our food very much. Our family members did as well! We also got a (large) slice of cheesecake as a little happy for our marriage, and it was so tasty! It was really just overall a wonderful meal and experience, a perfect ‘farewell’ dinner before they left the next day. Thank you Javier and thank you Saltgrass!

I visited Saltgrass Metairie location on 05/13/2023. This was my third time visiting the restaurant as I loved this location. We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I made a reservation for 7 because I knew that party was large and wanted to make it easy for us and the staff. What a joke!! We had to wait for 20 mins because all of the family hadn't arrived. Our reservation was at 8:45, so 30 mins put us at 9:15 getting to our table that was empty. We could have been seated the moment we got there but anyway, the first lady to introduce herself to us and take our drink order was Brandy. Brandy then gave the table to Jefferey, who came and told us he already had 5 other tables. Maybe the extra large table is what made this experience so terrible that I will never visit again, I'm not sure but it took an hour to get our appetizers. That came out cold, gross and incorrect. My sister literally had to get up and go get the manager to get our drinks 2 Porchswings from the bar. We hated to ask Jeffrey to go and get anything because it would take him 30 mins to return. By the time we got plates from another waiter, the appetizers were even more disgusting. It took another hour for the food to come and guess what??? it was closing time, they wanted us out. A rude waitress even pulled up a chair crossed her legs and stared at us as we talked and singed happy birthday to my daughter. I ordered a porterhouse, which was awful and cold. My sister ordered a ribeye which was also disgusting. But who could we complain to when the Manager was offering us bags to pack up and leave. I am not a hard person to get along with and have a lot of patience for the staff because I understand what they are going through but this staff was completely out of line and downright ridiculous. They kept staring at us and shaking their heads ready for us to leave. Trust me when I tell you the bill was very expensive for this poor and disgusting service. And I don't mind paying for what I want when it's done correctly. Add insult to injury, Jefferey added that he almost had a fight with the people in the kitchen and that he had already served 4 years in St Charles Parish jail. To go along with the horrible attitudes and poor service, was a nice weed contact in the parking lot on our way to the car. I will never ever visit this restaurant again and have told my family don't bother. They are short staffed and have no manners. Take the gatherings some where else, where we will be appreciated. I just wanted to let people know so they don't make the same mistake I did. Don't waste your time or hard earn money. The place has went down considerably and it's not...

I made an online order for 2 Steaks, 2 Salads, 1 Potato Soup, at 6:00pm spent about 78 dollars + left a 5$ tip. Online App said the order would be ready at 6:45pm, I arrived at 6:40 after work. I called to find out where to park for curb side service pick-up the lady said in the front of the store. As I pulled up to the spot she hung up! The sign had a number to call w/your spot #."why the lady didn't say that when we spoke and just hung up?" So I called back again and gave her the spot #8 she said" same lady" OK we will bring it out to you when it's done! So I sat in the car till 7:15 pm nobody called me or ever came out, I called " The same Lady " said it's almost done we will be there shortly. I sat till 7:45pm I called again "The same Lady answered AGAIN" I said I'm going to leave now cancel my order she replied " I'm bagging it up now I'll be there in a minute " she came out at 7:55pm I paid and waited till 8:05 for my c/c back. AND STILL LEFT A 5$ TIP because she said they were very busy even though the parking lot was not very full. lots of people were parking and leaving throughout this whole time in the curbside parking. When I got home to eat the food was cold as could be and looked like it sat for a long time the steaks were supposed to be medium the were raw barely cooked at all on the outside and inside, the mashed potatoes consisted of a small whole potato with skin that someone smashed it was dry dry with nothing put on it at all just a plain smashed pod of no flavor. Definitely not mashed potatoes I guess they gave me a baked potato realized the order was mashed potato and just smashed it. This was the worst experience of a 78$ meal after a long day of work I've had in a long time. At least they could have offered a glass of water while waiting for my cold meal for over and hour in the car, or maybe communicated...
