7-15-2018 - back again and perfect... Lily got us plenty of salsa and chips, for my son who is addicted. And the bartender must be back... because Pina Coladas and beer was flowing. Officially our new favorite Tex-Mex place!

7-8-2018 - Can"t believe it took us this long to return! Food was fantastic so I upped their rating since they provided exactly what I expected, minus a few items. The bartender was on vacation, so no frozen drinks, some of the beer taps were out... so we had soft drinks. Other than refilling them into the same cups, everything else was incredible. We both had the combination fajitas. The chicken, shrimp and especially the steak was top quality and taste. The side order of rice needs a little work as you may not recognize it as Spanish rice. Our waiter did a good job keeping our chips and amsslse filled. It's a little out of the way, but with the trip. With recent issues at all our regular Tex-Mex spots... this may be our new favorite!

In a nutshell: Hostess set a bad tone. Buffet for Sunday lunch was $14 for adults. Food was ok. Restaurant was hot and humid.

Details: A group of three adults, including my 85 year old mother who is disabled, arrived at 12:30 PM for lunch today. When we walked in, there was no one waiting to be seated. The hostess looked around and said, "I can seat you at a half table in the bar." There were three open tables in front of the front window, not on the bar, available. I said "No, my mother is disabled and we don't want to sit in the bar. May we sit at a table there?" The hostess took us to a low booth instead. Bad tone from the beginning.

The buffet was ok, but most food wasn't seasoned and was incredibly bland. The chicken quesadillas were decent; the taco meat flavorless. The tamales were awful. There was no queso. The food is ok if loading your plate is more important than tasting your food. In other words, if you're more about quantity than quality.

The restaurant was hot, like the AC wasn't working... even my mom, who is usually cold, was hot.

It was a bad experience, and I can't recommend Sarita's in Hammond to anyone. Two stars is generous--especially considering the callous way the hostess...

My girlfriend wanted to eat somewhere with chips and queso, and we both wanted to go somewhere new, so we chose saritas. Service was good, food on the other hand was not. The best thing we had to eat was the free queso you get for signing up for their emails ( which I swear is the tostitos white queso dip). Our food came out really fast, in under 5 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised until we started eating. I ordered the chimichanga carne and my entire plate was steaming - which is a sign it was microwaved. I cut open the chimichanga to see if it was cold in the center, and it was like it came straight out of the refrigerator. My girlfriend had the chicken quesadillas and she hardly ate one. The chicken was dry and there was hardly any cheese on the quesadillas and the cheese tasted like walmarts three cheese blend. I got the chimichanga taken off by a nice waiter but not wanting to push my luck I kept my mouth shut about the quesadillas. Overall I think I won't be coming back and I'll stick to somewhere...
