My dad & I came to this Cheddars location on maybe the 30th of June. We were out shopping for my son's birthday (7/2) We frequently ate at the Westport Rd location during my childhood and my dad had not been back since. We had a great experience on that day. Top notch. The nostalgia & great service and food from that trip factored in to the decision to bring my kids and his wife for dinner about a week later. Unfortunately this trip was terrible! As we walked in, my oldest son held the door open for a few elderly parties who were leaving. It was about 20/15 minutes till 4. The lot and restaurant were nearly empty. My dad walks up to the host stand and we were told it'll be about a 10 minute wait. It was obvious from the frantic cleaning and staff increasingly gathering around the bar area, eating ect that it was likely shift change. We understand that. 10 minutes becomes 15, then 20..25 minutes... I look to the normally "self seating" area for a solution. I ask the host about that area he kindly and politely responded. That's when a female with stringy blonde hair who had been sitting at the bar eating (and informing him not to seat anyone till she sees who all is coming in) interjects herself into the conversation. Mouth full of food, chewing while talking, with a rude attitude saying "it's shift change and not everyone has shown up for work yet! You have to wait!" My dad asks to see a manager or someone else who might be able to find a wait-staff who's there for the dinnershift and eager to make some money. We were seated after 30/35 minutes of waiting. I ordered a condiment for the appetizer (something that my kids liked) it had a big black hair in it. My dad's tatarsauce was sour to the point of being spoiled or something else. The rude hostess kept walking by our table with no customers to seat or anything staring and grinning at us and when we left she made sure to stop & interrupt the party at her booth to nearly yell "have a great day" it was obviously in a passive-aggressive tone. Our waitress continued to touch on the issue apologetically and seemed like she was trying to mend the issue. She also had a negative reflection of this hostess and voiced the desire for her to no longer work there but its a "tough position to keep staffed" In general are very non confrontational and usually never complain even when things are bad or not correct because we understand human error and bad days, we just go with the flow and move on. So once we were seated the "issue" was over for us but apparently not for everyone who worked there. Our family revamp of Cheddars & its spot in our rotation came and has now left in a week...
Read moreWe are so excited that we had 18 Lunch Bunch Friends go to Cheddar’s on the Outer Loop for lunch after Church. We had 4 brand new friends join us.
This is a copy of the review that I did for Cheddar’s at Google.

I called as soon as church was over and gave them our final count of people. We arrived at Cheddar’s and they had just finished setting up the tables. Daron P was our server and he was there to greet us as we were seated. We were seated in 3 groups of 10, 6 and 4. Daron delivered the free honey drizzled croissants and took our drink orders. Then he started back over taking our food orders in the same order. This fellow had a plan.
Our drinks started arriving and the salads came out. My 1/2 house salad was so delicious, and my husband said his 1/2 Caesar SaIad was the best he had eaten for a long time. I think about 4-5 people had signed up for a new e-club account, so the Queso and Chip rewards were delivered. As soon as the entrees were brought to us, it got really quiet.
2 of us had the child’s Chicken, which came with 3 very plump Tenders and a side. My husband chose the Lemon Pepper Chicken on Rice and Broccoli Casserole. It was a beautiful cut of chicken, and he said it was very delicious. Several of the men had ribs and very proudly left with clean shirts! There was a Chicken Tender Meal, a grilled Pork Chop, New Orleans Pasta which had Shrimp, chicken, smoked sausage, peppers, onions and penne pasta in a spicy homemade Cajun Alfredo Sauce, a Sirloin, two ladies had the Country Fried Chicken on a Slice of Texas Toast. The last table that I went to had gotten their entrees first and there wasn’t much left to take pictures of!
We really had a wonderful time talking and getting to more about each other. When Daron came back for about the fifth time or more, he brought back the checks and there was absolutely no trouble with any of our tickets or debit cards. He brought back take out boxes. He really did a fantastic job taking care of our 18 friends. We met the manager Zach Mann, who thanked us for coming and if we needed anything to let him know. It was a...
Read moreI'm so disappointed. When we walked in we had a girl that had 0 personality no greeting to make you feel welcome just basically what what did we want. Then when we chose the patio she said she really didn't have a server out there except for one. But it's a beautiful day and that was why we came here. So we said that we would wait the 15 minutes we were being told it would take. She mentioned it a couple of times as if she'd prefer
that we didn't. So we went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited. As for employees stood around including the girl who greeted us but yet either wiped down the table or talked among themselves looked right through us not even saying hello. We finally had it a bartender walk behind the bar and ask if we wanted something. Once again not a hello how are you all today can I get you something. When I asked if there was a drink special. I practically got a scoff. In a flat no. So I asked for a recommendation. I was told that she didn't know what I liked. I'm pretty clear about that. Considering we didn't know each other. So I personally feel that it was a poor customer service answer. Most places would say well this is rather popular but what direction were you wanting to go. It's like no one had a personality behind their mask. Everyone was flat and dry My question would be is the management just that bad there that all the employees are miserable Or are the employees all needing to be retrained in customer service. And I know that the far is not being used at this time but honestly the whole area looked awful. As we said that we were going to go someplace else. The lady just stood there making some kind of motion with her arms and the glass that was in her hand. And through her hands up in the air.. We are going to a local-owned place called bungalow Joe's , Where they know how to treat a customer regardless of whether or not they're wearing a mask they have personality and make you...
