We were there last night and I was disappointed. I got the pineapple chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken was flavorless and the other flavors (pineapple, green pepper, red pepper, and some sort of sauce) seemed to be muted, which was weird. The rice was more like steamed rice rather than fried. At first I was confused at the chicken having no flavor despite there being plenty of the other ingredients in with it but after a few more bites I had to struggle to finish it. We had gone there with friends who love the place and I didn't want to hurt their feelings since they had really talked it up to us. They had only ever tried the special fried rice so they had no idea how anything else tasted. Plus, I found out later while eating, they've never had Chinese anywhere else so they have nothing to compare it to. The egg roll and fortune cookies were good. The rice was OK but I was expecting fried not steamed rice. We only got two fortune cookies though and there were four of us.
I went up to the counter shortly after getting our drinks to ask for straws and stood there to see how long it'd take the two ladies to notice me. One had her back turned away from the front counter and both of them were completely absorbed in their phones. I got tired of waiting and got their attention. One of them initially tried to argue with me that they had given me straws and acted like they weren't going to give me any until the second lady said she hadn't put any straws on the food tray. Very strange to have such a to-do with a customer asking for two straws.
One of our friends wanted a drink refill and paid a dollar for it. Not used to paying for refills here in America so I thought it odd.
I've eaten better Chinese at mall food courts. Not interested...
Read moreThe workers were very friendly. Yes, I do love Chinese food but the service is my favorite part about it. I know that there are a lot of people on this Earth that get lost in translation, but the Asian American population have no problem understanding what we say which us something we sometimes take for granted. I mean come on they have done their homework and are always so nice and helpful and on top of everything. There are sum barrier issues that the Asian American immigrants have with us that aren't with our language which btw, they understand very well. It's because (and let's face it) they are tops at everything they do. No they are not lost in translation like we are. They actually have a lot issues understanding our culture, views and our practices, and understandably too. I mean look at us we are doing everything wrong as a society for the most part. We take mother Earth for granted who at any time can be very unforgiving then where would we be huh? Not them, they respect Mother Earth. They understand the importance things we take for granted and will lose one day if we don't change, maybe we should start speaking their language for a change....
Read moreThis was the only Chinese restaurant open amid the Covid19 quarentine in our area. Being 9 months pregnant with cravings, I had to check it out. We couldn't order by phone because "of the high call volume", we had to do it in person. We placed the order and was told "20 minutes". We waited in the car because the place was packed with people waiting. Twenty minutes ended up being 2 hours! Turns out the were serving in person AND delivery orders and the demand was too high. When we finally got the food, it was not good at all. There was exactly one..ONE...shrimp in the SHRIMP FRIED RICE. And, the rice was undercooked. We payed about $35 for the food. Recently went somewhere else, ordered the same thing (but this one was good) and it was $25. I understand that they are serving under difficult circumstances but they should concentrate on one thing, either delivery or in person, not both, because it is affecting the quality of the food. I for one, will not be going back to...
