Somehow I had learned of this place online and when I found myself nearby, I decided to check it out. Located in downtown, it is a old house converted to a bakery for pickup/patio dining only since you don’t enter but order at one part of the building and pick up at another. A menu of choices hands in the front but most of the bakery options are on display on the side in a large menu. I was a bit confused by their website. They show a great number of items not displayed either on the front menus or the side windows as well as items on shown on menus that were not on the website. I ordered a sandwich that interested me and rather quickly it was ready. There was not a lot of meat in the sandwich but I gathered that was due to the style. The bread used was quite good though. I also got a chia pudding that was good but a bit pricey. They had some interesting bakery items and take and bake stuff the I will have to try sometime. They have a pretty good amount of outdoor seating but I was there just before noon and when I was leaving, there was a pretty good line for them. I will have to order online to avoid the line if I come back around the same time.

Wonderful bread & pasties with live music on the weekends! Love this cozy spot. Well worth the price tag.

One of the best bakeries in Colorado. I ordered the King Egg - a warm and flakey croissant stuffed with fluffy, pillow-like eggs. The fillings rotate, and mine featured brie, gruyere, and kale. The sharpness of the cheese and slight bitterness added by the kale made this a truly savory treat. The kouigan amanns also looked amazing. I'll definitely make a repeat visit to try them out. Great service - the folks behind the counter were friendly and excited to make recommendations. To top it off, the location is charming - an old house that at first glance blends into the surrounding neighborhood. It's busy and bustling around lunch time, but still a good place to work and the perfect place to catch up with friends.

Today proves nothing has changed in poor customer service in the last 10 months. I put an online order in last year at the end summer last year. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was told that it had never been received. When I showed the confirmation on my phone, I was told there was nothing they could do since they items I reserved had just been sold out. I showed them that I had been charged for the item and was told I would receive a credit. I never received the credit. I decided to try again and that 10 months was both long enough for my grudge and for them to improve their online ordering system. I was wrong on both counts. Once again, my order had not been received, luckily this time it was early enough in the day for them to have the items on hand, therefore, I was able to receive my order. Adding insult to injury when I was walking away with my order the employee said and I quote, "please make sure the charge went through". I informed him it had; unfortunately I forgot to mention that speaking of credits and charges, I'm still waiting on their reimbursement from 10 months ago. While their food is exceptional, their service and ordering systems are so below par, this is definitely the last time they'll be able to mess...

An update to my generic, no description 5* review a la 2018. The very first morning I spent in Colorado in 2016/7 was highlighted by a visit to Moxie Bread Co. So much so that the iced latte, cinnamon roll and kouign amann live vividly in my head close to 10 years later.

Located in old town Louisville (the best Colorado small town) at the crossing of Main & Pine. Perch up on the patio early and observe the town spring to life. Cyclists, walker & runners, pooches and pups. Spend enough time here and you will become a part of the community. Show up here as a tourist and be welcomed as if you just moved in upstairs.

The baked goods are second to none and the espresso/coffee drinks bring me to life. Moxie is a MUST visit when nearby...scratch that...Moxie is worth the drive from most anywhere on the front range. A perfect spot to spend a morning as a townie or a visitor. I have brought every friend & family member that visited me in CO to Moxie during their stay.

There is a lot to the story of Moxie, but just know that they deserve your visit, your love and dollars and finally your sustained support. Such a delight seeing the expansion and growth of Moxie over the years starting out of this little house...

Just waited 25 minutes for a to-go order consisting of two slices of toast and one bagel. We have been here several times as all of the food my girlfriend and I have tried there has been amazing, hence the two stars considering the service we received today was offputting. Our cashier didn’t greet us and seemed like we were annoying her just by ordering which we did quickly, normally service is friendly (the guy making drinks is great as well as Rick) so we were disappointed, but hey the food is great right? Fast forward 15 minutes, no food and clearly everyone else is getting theirs before it’s. After asking our cashier about our food she told us that someone must have picked it up....we were standing there the whole time and it’s a very small shop, so we knew that wasn’t true. Ten minutes later we got our food, which was annoying because we saw several orders get placed and filled while ours was idk cooking? Toast gets pretty complicated. They did offer us two free cookies (woohoo -_- we were in a hurry ) and a half hearted apology. A smile goes a long way :)

Overall the food, bread and coffee is fantastic. It hurts me to leave a 2 star...
