We wanted to like this rink... but the reality is that the ice really sucks here. They don't even seem to try and clean it up. We tried an ice skating rink in Longmont and wow, what a difference because they have a zamboni to keep the ice in good shape. The last time we skated at the Louisville rink, a woman fell and broke her leg. The ice is choppy, melty and they just don't seem to make an effort to make it better. We really miss the Boulder ice skating rink near the Dushanbe Tea House but unfortunately the City of Boulder doesn't want their residents to enjoy winter activities. Another unfortunate discovery is that WinterSkate decided to cut out the discount if you bring your own skates.... you have to pay full price. That is a blow. We also don't like that this rink is so shaded, it's freezing (the one in Boulder was open and you would have sun to warm you up if it was a nice day). It could have potential -- maybe -- but this place has a ways to go. We won't be going back unless some...
Read moreThis place used to be quite nice and charming but the new skates are absolutely terrible. They need to switch back to whatever they were using before this season or make it more clear that you should bring your own skates. The skates are excruciatingly painful around the ankle area and when brought to the attention of the staff, they suggested that it was the “specific pair” and to try another identical pair but that did absolutely nothing given that it’s just a bad design. Additionally, the ice quality is horrible. I get that it’s a small rink outdoors in Colorado but there’s no effort to remove the “snow” buildup on the ice which makes it unskateable. $30 for 10 minutes of skating 🤣
They also removed the portable restroom that they used to have which is...
Read moreSkates are awful. For adults I would call them 100% unusable. I couldn't even stand with my initial pair. When I mentioned it the first time, they replaced with a slightly better pair and then was only able to use them for about 10 minutes before the pain became too much. They push in on your ankle bone. The kids (8 & 10) were able to use them for about 45 minutes before it was hurting them too badly. Nice to have an outdoor rink, but if it isn't usable, it isn't...
