I found Eric Olson through a recommendation and was excited to work with them to get the engagement ring I was envisioning. I was incredibly particular about the dimensions I wanted for my oval center stone because I wanted it to appear elongated. I had numerous jewelers searching for it, and this place found it first. The setting I wanted was fairly simple, diamond band with a hidden halo. They don’t carry much in shop for trying on, but have access to ordering custom designs. I was hesitant to purchase it without seeing it in person, but the gal who works there assured me it was a hidden halo and would be what I was looking for. Fast forward to post-(super adorable)proposal, and the halo on this is not hidden. What’s worse is it sticks out primarily on the sides, which gives the face up of the diamond a much wider appearance than desired. We asked if they could work on it to maybe move it down to hide it, and Eric acted like it would be open heart surgery and something completely foreign to him, and said they’d charge us $600-$800 for the work. Absolutely boggling to me that a custom fine jewelry shop wouldn’t have better knowledge of the products they carry, or take measures to rectify the situation. Incredibly disappointed that I now either have to find another custom shop to work on it, or purchase another setting…neither of which is cost effective.
Wish the experience would have been different because he had a lot of cool custom pieces, and it could have been a lifelong relationship as my fiancée has about 50 years of gifts to buy. Hell, there was even a beautiful watermelon tourmaline wing butterfly necklace I was considering buying for my mom for her birthday. Unfortunately, unless some major olive branch were offered, I’d never go there again or recommend them to any of my friends.

Read moreA customer for half a decade, I found Eric's designs and workmanship superb. My mistake was returning recently with a 62-year old ring my father gave me. Eric had resized it a couple of years ago. As I have lost weight, the ring needed attention again. I thought Eric could easily add another spacing block between the two previous ones he had placed on the inside of the Ring's band. He did this but the result was that now the ring was too tight. I asked Eric to file down the blocks somewhat to loosen the band. He disappeared into his back workroom. Instead of slightly cutting down the blocks, he roughly filed away the original Sterling silver. The work appears to have been done with a rotating, coarse wire drill attachment. The effort removed the deeply engraved letters, "STERLING" that had displayed themselves all across the inside of the band. This also left the inside of the ring's edge very uncomfortably sharp. I was deviated. Heart broken. This "master" destroyed the original work rather than cut back his resizing blocks. I cannot help but think he, in effect, exchanged base metal for sterling. I shall never return to buy not trade...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a jeweler in Colorado then your search is over.
Eric Olson truly lives up to his title as the master jeweler and excels in his craft. I am grateful that I came across his shop when in search of a jeweler for an important and delicate project that required not just a skilled goldsmith but one who could provide the necessary discipline and care for the creation of two important new items.
In addition to delivering two beautiful pieces of custom work with quick turnaround, he was extremely responsive, helpful and informative throughout the process.
Eric went above and beyond and served as an indispensable guide along the path of transforming my raw materials into something beautiful. He gave me something that will last a lifetime and will hopefully remain with my family for years to come.
It seems to me that any aspect of the creation, maintenance and knowledge about jewelry and precious stones is well within his mastery. Eric is a true craftsman and earns a well deserved 5 stars across the board.
Thanks, again, Eric....
