So very disappointing. I would like to preface this with acknowledging that prices everywhere have soared and I appreciate they may be making an effort to pay their employees more fairly. I will also say, our server Thomas was a gem, he comped a birthday desert and was attentive and well trained; He could be working for a much better place.
Things worth going for: cocktails, apps and Panna Cotta and happy hour go somewhere else for the rest of your meal.
I am more than willing to pay a premium for good, creative food (the Wolf's Tailor or Fish n Beer being my standards) and this was not by any stretch of the imagination, worth the money. This is small business outback steakhouse at BEST. Selection was a snooze; 10 different steak options, some pasta options nothing innovative. As far as execution of the dishes I can only speak about what I tried.
Our party ordered the oysters, calamari, and ceviche for apps. Oysters were a reasonable price (almost to the point of being concerned about quality, tbd) and okay, calamari was well seasoned reminiscent of old bay and well cooked. The dipping sauce was tasty. The ceviche would have been better more simple as is traditional just fish, cilantro and lime juice this had a heavy tomato base more like a mixed up shrimp cocktail.
For mains my boyfriend ordered the Mac and cheese which is pretty hard to mess up in my opinion. For a staggering $23 price you would expect either a large portion or a really stellar Mac and sad to say this was neither. No flavor at all and it was about 8 oz of food. Over cooked noodles and like a teaspoon of flavorless cream that split in the ramekin. We split a Caesar and that was decent but again for $11?
Finally I had clam chowder because I'm a big fan of clam chowder and this was not clam chowder. I don't know what it was but it was NOT clam chowder. First and most concerning it had this sickly grey color to it and was eerily translucent. It had the consistency of apple sauce and I could not detect any cream of any kind. It was almost like they thickened bottled clam juice with corn starch; it was lumpy and it was thick but it was not creamy.
The Panna Cotta was good
I feel like I should add too, this place was deserted at 6:30. For a weeknight it should have been packed if it was any good and I should have lowered my expectations at that time. I cannot recommend especially for the exorbitant prices. ...

I made the reservation early in the morning and specifically said it was for a date. Usually when you make reservations there are defined tables, especially at the price point of this restaurant. However, the first place we were put was in a back room with a table of 10 that was a reunion of frat boys. Mind you we were there for a long over due date night. Not college night. Asking to be reassigned to a different area, preferably one where we could hear each other, we were moved next to a church group. To be honest, I did not see the point of making reservations if the host will not accommodate.
After sitting down, our waiter did not tell us about the restaurant history or ask if it was our first time. I began to order a martini and was cut off when he immediately asked for my ID. I am 30. I understand the importance, but he didn't ask my significant other for his, when he ordered an old fashioned and he is 29. I then had to stop the waiter and tell him exactly how I wanted when he said "I assume you want gin". This was a great start.
We ordered mussels as an appetizer and asked for some bread. The mussels came out in less than 10 mins and were either undercooked or dead, most were closed. The bread came out and was only 2 slices with a giant gob of butter. Then we ordered our main meals but unlike most steak houses, Mac and cheese or brussel sprouts were not a side. So we ordered a baked potato and crab cake. My SO ordered the flatiron Wague beef and I ordered the dry aged bone in NY strip. Here is the most disappointing thing about this evening, the steaks are made with an attempt at Millionaire butter sauce. I wish we had known that. It is a sad day when I do not finish a steak. I didn’t finish this one. You taste more Worcestershire than butter and it had ruined all of the steaks flavoring. The steaks were also over flavored with a garlic lemon seasoning that I was scraping off. When we first walked in I was wondering why most of the patrons weren’t eating steaks, and it...
Read moreIt was just ok, and just ok wasn’t what I was looking for as a celebratory dinner. We were in the back room right next to the kitchen door, which was loud and uncomfortable.
It took us 40 minutes just to get our drinks.
The waitress was nice, but not excellent, and didn’t come to check on our food after it was served, she even forgot a side. We certainly did not feel as if we were being hosted. It would’ve been great if she came to check on us because many of us were displeased with our food and it would have been nice if some of it could have been remedied.
Overall the food was nothing to rave about, and we felt like we could’ve cooked a better ribeye at home. My sister got the seafood crêpes, they were stuffed with lobster shrimp, and a fish, which were all shredded together, So the flavors of the individual seafood we’re all lost. The flat iron chicken was dry and overly topped with fried onions. The grilled artichoke was completely charred and any flesh was dry. Maybe it just wasn’t there best night, but it’s an expensive place to have so many things wrong with the food.
The saving grace to my three star review is that the lobster was absolutely phenomenal.
One of the people in our party is vegan and the chef could offer her nothing except for salad and french fries, which came out over drenched and looking like diner food. I understand it’s a steakhouse, but every good chef should be able to whip up a few veggies and some sauce.
I left, feeling disappointed that we spent so much money. I’m sorry, but I will not...
