If you're in Louisville, KY, and craving some top-notch Mexican cuisine, Taquero Mucho is the place to be! This gem of a restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that stands out from the crowd. It's off the Outer Loop and a bit difficult to see, just look for the smiling muchacho across from the "lizard" restaurant. You will NOT regret it!!! The staff/ownership are incredibly friendly and interested in your experience, the chef even came out and spoke with us and exchanged Merry Christmases!!

One of the highlights of Taquero Mucho is their incredible black bean dip. Unlike the usual salsa, this dip is a game-changer. It's rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor, making it a perfect companion to their freshly made tortilla chips. The unique taste of the black bean dip adds a special touch that you won't find anywhere else.

The rest of the menu is equally impressive, with a variety of dishes that are crafted with care and attention to detail. From their delicious tacos to their flavorful enchiladas, every bite is a testament to the quality and authenticity of their food.

So, if you're looking for a Mexican restaurant that offers something truly special, head over to Taquero Mucho. You won't be...

What a terrific place! Tucked away in a strip mall near the GE plant, this little restaurant is quietly putting out some of he best food I've ever had.

I came to try the machete, having seen pictures in a local foodie group, and it lived up to the hype. It's a huge soft flatbread folded over a filling of cheese and onion and your choice of meats (I chose delicious pastor pork). Every bite was full of flavor, which was even better with a generous dab of their wonderful smoky hot red sauce.

The service was quick and friendly and it's plain the server is passionate about the food. He explained that the menu is consciously designed to offer authentic Mexican regional dishes and not just the same dozen things every Tex-Mex joint offers.

The machete and a delicious jarrito and tip came to $25, which is more than I usually spend for lunch, but I ended up with enough leftovers for a whole other meal, so I think that's quite fair for the quantity and quality of food on offer. They do have a normal lunch menu of more modest proportions, and I'll probably investigate that next time. I'll definitely be back for...

This was such a great experience! Excellent, SUPER FRESH, and authentic food, especially the birria (which is hard to find), and large portions! I like the food much better than most Mexican places in the area. Unique hand made pottery look to their dishware, clean and fun atmosphere!

Service is next level! Thoughtful, quick, knowledgeable, and genuinely took an interest in how our experience went. They asked us how we found the place and if we had any feedback, and we only had praise for them! We went on Mother's Day and they had free roses and a tequila shot for moms, and they ended up talking with us and played with my baby nephew and basically became extended family! 🥰

My only thing that I'd say is a disadvantage for them is that it's hard to see the building from Old Shepherdsville Rd because the car shop blocks them so it does mean less people see them, but it's such a gem, so please go see them! We want them to...

If you’re an OG from Okolona or Highview, then you know this to be the same location of Villa Romano from way back. This is is a small and nice Mexican restaurant with a great menu variety. The menu is in Spanish but understandable with basic information. We had great and friendly service. Like in many countries, they don’t serve tap water. They do serve complimentary warm chips and a tasty bean dip. We ordered the guacamole and it was very fresh and chunky. It was gone before I could snap a photo. My husband got the huarache - big enough to share. My poblano relleno was fantastic. It came with rice and beans and the batter was eggy and good. It also was served with HANDMADE tortillas. Such an unexpected treat! There is a very spicy green salsa and a medium smoky red salsa that they also bring to the table. I can’t wait to go back and try something else.
