This place is legitimately delicious.
In a renovated Dairy Queen, you'll find this clean and bright baseball themed restaurant. Good old fashioned stadium food. Cajun fries made from a real whole potato and crispy just how I want it pairs well with burgers and hotdogs. I tried the #2, a sunrise burger with bacon and eggs on top, which they call Bases Loaded.
Home Run Sauce is tangy and zesty and compliments the burger perfectly. That egg looked a little browner than I normally like, but you know what? That slight crisp to the edges really works on a cheeseburger. Great quality bacon, too.
I love that they have classic Brisk, no lemon, on tap. Reminds me of my amusement park days as a kid at Holiday World. Nostalgia is what this place evokes and that particular brand of sweet tea hits me just right.
And I didn't skimp on dessert. The waffle Sunday uses a sugar-cured Belgium waffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a tame blend of chocolate, strawberry, and caramel sauces that doesn't overwhelm the waffle but offer just the right hint of those classic Sundae Vibes.
I stopped in on a whim, but I will absolutely be back. This is Americana done right and the flavors are bold and balanced.
The sweetest woman at the counter, Leslie, knows customer service. Friendly, patient, engaging, and she checked on me twice while I was dining in the lobby. Definitely takes it from feeling like fast food to feeling like you're truly dining in. As I was wrapping up, she said, "So glad you enjoyed everything! Don't forget to leave a review!" But my experience was so good that I was already typing this one before she asked.
I can't wait to bring the teens. They will scarf this down so fast!
Burger with egg and bacon, seasoned fries, medium drink, and dessert -- $15. Cheaper than any of the big name shops on Outer Loop by...
Read more11/4/2023 Update to my once 5 star review. We ordered carry out last night. It was gross. The fries were so hard and tasted like they were triple fried because they were made hours ago. The place stunk like sewage when I went in to pick up our carry out order...The hamburger was gross and full of grease. The bun was hard, my lettuce was brown on the edges and I couldn't even finish my meal. It was just gross with every bite I tried. I got the same thing I always get which is pictured from previous times my husband and I have been. This was by far the worst experience and meal we have had from there. So gross. We won't be going back. ...Pictured is the cheeseburger kids meal. It was off the chain amazing and good. To me it was full sized. I literally couldn't have eaten a normal burger off the menu. My husband got a burger with a fried egg on it...well it isnt pictured here because he loved it and devoured it before any picture taking was done. 🤣 overall we will definitely be back. The burgers were fantastic, the french fries were good and the overall curbside pick up was easy. The curbside fella that brought our food out did forget the drinks but I kindly reminded him and he apologized and went back in to get them. We definitely recommend this place to try if you like a legit hamburger ...
Read moreService was good, and burger was alright, but anything that was fried was not up to snuff. It was very clear the oil had not been changed for a very long time. Fish, chicken, and onion rings were dripping in oil; onion rings had absolutely no crisp.
I understand prices have gone up regarding ingredients, and thus restaurants will have to compensate, but approx. $14 for three very small, greasy, and unseasoned chicken strips and a few un-crispy onion rings (also sopped in grease) is not what I'm willing to pay. If the quality was improved, I'd change my mind, but I do not think I will return to this one.
I went to a different one many years ago and it was good, shame that this new one left a bad...
