Wiltshire Pantry Bakery and Cafe Highlands is a step into everything I want in a cafe. Their website beautifully displays what you’ll experience. The corner-seated establishment boasts a warmth from the sunshine filtering through the windows to the very delicious offerings at hand. My choices for breakfast were all perfection. To start, and the reason I knew this place was for “me”, pumpkin molasses cookie. It’s already been sampled, enjoyed, and saved for later. Their LATTE!!! I really don’t sit and savor coffee, but am taking my time with this. Body and taste is sensational. I take mine plain with whole milk. The Meat Quiche boasted sweet potato in addition to bacon, and the crust just took it to a whole other level. The flakiness of the pasty really takes off with a-go in the oven. I baked my slice in a loose piece of foil 10-min at 350. The crust crisped up in such a way it gave a mouthfeel of caramelization. PRISTINE!!! All this said, I wholly enjoyed my breakfast experience and will be returning to enjoy their San Gennaro Sandwich and maybe a slice of pear/cranberry crumble pie or baklava cheesecake. I need to be decisive so I don’t order for a crowd, thank you to the Wiltshire Pantry Bakery and Cafe Team at...
Read moreI’m a native to Louisville and my wife and I are always looking for ways to support our community thru buying things local… Wiltshire Pantry will not be receiving anymore business from my family after our experience there today.
We went to enter the store and the first thing we were received by were yelling voices saying, “Do you all have masks???” I have no problem wearing a mask and wore one regularly during the height of the pandemic, but have not had one for a while, since the CDC guidelines changed. With that being said I let the employee know I did not and went to look for a disposable one (out of habit, since almost every store has them). When I didn’t see one I was told I could order online and wait outside.
My wife ended up having a mask in our car so she proceeded to go in and order for the both of us. She ended up waiting for a while, unattended, and when she finally did receive our order (a cinnamon roll) it was dry and cold…
Needless to say we were both very disappointed that this is a representation of our local community. It is not a hard thing to show kindness, professionalism, and to warm...
Read moreWe stopped in here last Sunday right before leaving for the airport and I have to say this was a very worthy extra stop before leaving Louisville. I love baking so I don't often buy baked goods but Wiltshire is one of those bakeries that brings their A-game so you just HAVE TO buy all the things, especially the things that are too intimidating for you to conquer in your own kitchen. Honestly everything was delicious, and I regret not coming here for breakfast (we went to Flora Kitchen nearby for breakfast and stopped here for extra coffee and pastries for the road). The only reason I took off the star is because their ordering/queuing system is incredibly inefficient (if someone is ready to order you should take their order not wait for the person who came in first but is STILL DECIDING, they need to move to the side...), and my iced coffee tasted a little strange - though it could be the fault of the flavored syrup, it might've been old? But something was definitely off. TL;DR: Definitely stop in here to try...
