I recently had the pleasure of visiting Artist & Craftsman Supply located at 1002 Barret Ave, Louisville, KY, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience! The store is a treasure trove for any art enthusiast, offering a wide variety of high-quality supplies.

I went in to buy a pair of scissors for my nephew and was thrilled with the selection available. The staff was incredibly helpful, guiding me to exactly what I needed and offering recommendations based on my requirements. The scissors I bought were perfect – sturdy, sharp, and just the right size for a young artist. My nephew absolutely loved them and immediately put them to use on his prized bonsai tree. His excitement and joy made the purchase even more worthwhile.

Beyond the excellent product range, the atmosphere in the store is inviting and inspiring. It's clear that the people who work here are passionate about art and genuinely care about their customers. I've passed this store many times over the years and just recently stopped in for the first time while walking my dog. Thank goodness the staff are incredibly dog-friendly, because I spent a bit of time wandering around and checking out the great selection before realizing I would need to come back to explore more thoroughly. Within minutes of our arrival, Raava (my four-legged companion) was given water twice (once per staff on duty) and a dog biscuit. We went back again a couple weeks later and our experience was just as wonderful. I found what I needed both times and the prices are reasonable and lower than expected for a small, local store. Artist & Craftsman Supply is my new favorite Louisville gem!

This place is always worth a visit! Any time you’re nearby OR need anything fun or crafty or art related, this is THE spot!

I always find something fun, and can also rely on it for art staples as well. I am usually here looking for a unique gift or for things to casually craft with, like a small painting project with my daughter.

They have the best little zipper pouches for holding stuff with funny phrases or beautiful pictures on them. They have ALL the art supplies for someone in need of the real deal stuff, and for the amateur just poking around for something fun. Staff is always ready to help as well!

Because of this store, our family started a tradition of painting wooden rolling horses I found here for derby, and each derby we jazz them up more...
