I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that cleanliness was a top priority. I haven’t eaten at this brand in YEARS! I did look up the reviews before stopping by and although the rating of 3.8 was lower than I had expected, I decided to take a chance and come inside just to take a look before ordering. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service team members were fast, the food was extremely fresh and everything was hot and tasty. The orange chicken was a fresh batch which was good and the beans/chicken was cooked just right. I had half rice and half broccoli/cabbage as my side. The server and cashier was VERY nice and helpful in my selections and answered my questions efficiently. I normally don’t eat out especially fast food but I was tired of leftovers but had a taste for some orange chicken. I was pleasantly surprised about food to my liking. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which is a premium entrée with an additional charge. Unfortunately, when I got to work and tried it, the shrimp tasted undercooked and the batter was soggy and mushy — definitely not up to Panda Express standards. I called the restaurant right away to let them know the quality was unacceptable. They asked me to return, so I came back after my shift.

When I arrived, the woman I spoke to — who I believe is the manager — showed no empathy or apology for the issue. I dine at various Panda Express locations and know how the Honey Walnut Shrimp is supposed to taste. I asked to exchange it for the steak and shrimp entrée instead. She reluctantly agreed but intentionally gave me only two shrimp and a small portion of steak.

It was disappointing to be treated this way, especially by someone in management. Customer service training may be needed here, as no one should be made to feel like they’re asking for a favor when simply requesting properly...
