We came here for an easy date night tonight and we were excited for something new. We were seated immediately which was great. Our server, Makayla came over before we were completely sitting to ask what we wanted to drink. This was a little premature so we just got waters to start. When she came back with the waters shortly after, she wanted our appetizer order. Again, this was premature. We ordered the pretzel and I ordered an Aperol Spritz. Someone else brought the pretzel over and then my Aperol took a few extra minutes, which was fine. The pretzel was okay. It isnt necessarily worth the hype that it gets because of the size of the pretzel. We ordered a steak fajita bowl and the avocado quinoa salad with steak for dinner, then also got the fried zucchini because we weren’t impressed the pretzel. Someone else ran our dinner order over. The faijita bowl was good, but it would have been great if it had a heat component, and we could not ask for one because our server was MIA. We didn’t get Makayla back to our table until we were almost done. At this point, the person with me was drinking both of our waters and I had to ask for refills. Instead of bringing two waters, Makayla came back with just one water. Then I poured it in both of our cups and she watched me do that, and still didn’t ask if we wanted another water. At this point, we were over the whole thing. The food is nothing stellar for the price point. On top of that, everything would have tasted way better if our service was better. Would have asked for a manager, but it was hard enough to get someone to our table as is. We will...
Read moreWhen you go to Ramsey’s you have to know what you can expect. The place is right of the bike trail, so it can be quite busy and they don’t accept reservation. But still, we like to take our bike down the bike trail and stop for dinner every week since restaurants opened again after Covid-19. Yesterday, after the rain cleared out, it was no exception and stopped at Ramsey’s again. My wife went to ask for a table outside and the 3 hostesses told her that the waiting time was 1 hour for inside. She told the girls that we would prefer to sit outside as the patio was empty, so they called the manager. He said that he was not opening up the patio because of possible rain. We told him that we had no problem taking the risk as we checked the weather forecast. After insisting, we still had a no so we went to eat at Enoteca Emilia a little off the bike trail, we had a delight of a salad, pizza, and Italian wine. Happy with our discovery we returned to our bikes to discover that the patio at Ramsey’s was full so I went for a talk with the manager. I asked him what happened as we were there earlier and he said he changed his mind. I told him that the polite thing to do towards his customers would to tell us earlier that if we waited a bit, the patio could open but he continued to be impolite and tried to get out of the conversation. So yes, Ramsey’s has price-quality great food but don’t expect to be treated like a royal, it is nice to sit on the patio and they have quite a lot of staff but it is clear that they lack the friendliness that you could expect from a...
Read moreMy parents have lived out in Loveland for roughly 30 years. I spent a lot of my youth there and have been amazed by the growth of the historic downtown business district. The bike trail that runs through the center of town has always been a hit, and many of the restaurants are located very nearby. None are closer to the trail than Ramsey's Tailside. My family and I have met my parents are Ramsey's a couple of times now.
On the first visit, I tried the fajita bowl with brown rice, black beans, fire-roasted corn salsa, shredded cheddar cheese, fresh grilled onions and peppers, and topped with fresh guacamole and sour cream ($9 + $4 for chicken). Overall I found the bowl to be appropriately sized, though, for the most part, I found it to be fairly bland in flavor. I think spicing up the rice, chicken, and even the salsa would be beneficial to this dish.
My wife had the zucchini noodle Thai bowl with zucchini noodles, bell peppers, mushrooms, and sauteed onions in a Thai peanut sauce ($9 + $4 for chicken). The flavor of this bowl was a lot better than the fajita bowl. The Thai sauce was plentiful and very good!
On a second visit, I tried the chicken tacos topped with fire-roasted corn salsa, shredded cabbage, cotija cheese, and chipotle cilantro lime dressing. This was also served with brown rice and black beans ($13). I liked this more than the fajita bowl but still felt that it was missing a little something. With that said our service has been excellent and the location along the...
