I love their food. Most of the places in this area are, of course, Chinese food but leans more towards the fast foods/ the typical, maybe even stereotypical food you would imagine as "Chinese food".
Tasty Dumplings on the other hand, gives options on their menu that you may not see anywhere else in Lowell (but probably China Star or other nearby similar restaurants; but that's so far away!). Quick to order, and a convenient location.
Whether it is the nearby parking lots or a lucky curbside spot, you won't have to walk too far to get a bite here. Don't feel like doing take-out? They have dine-in but it is very limited. But that is ok! More outside seats come out during the summer season so you have a better chance at dining in :P
Local Bubble Tea/ Coffee shop next to this restaurant to get your drinking needs as well!
The only thing(s) that I would complain about that some of the dishes other than the dumplings can be a bit underwhelming (meaning that it wasn't something that got me excited to eat after the first bite or it was just too plain in general). If not that, the food can be a bit too salty or as if they added too much MSG. I get that it is food that can be made in a 15-30 minute time frame but I hope they can improve in this area for future orders.
Aside from that, their staff could go above and beyond! One person personally help me pack my take-out order into my bag seeing that I was struggling doing so. Somehow they managed to do it and I was on my way. My food didn't have spills or damaged packaging and it was done with my permission, if you were wondering. Lovely folks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love the food here but I didnāt get to taste it when I arrived for lunch Saturday at 12:30. I asked for the only table left but I was told, āOh you canāt sit there, thatās for a large party.ā I told her I was waiting on two more people but she refused to seat me and ushered me over to where the bar stools were. I told her, āIām not sitting there with my guests.ā She retorted, āJust wait. Just wait.ā I felt very put off and I considered her to be very rude. As it turned out, the server chose to let a party of four sit at the only table left when I had been waiting for 15 minutes. Granted, my guests were not there yet because they drove around for fifteen minutes looking for parking while I was trying to grab a table. As my two guests, making us a party of three, were walking in, a party of four walked in directly in-front of them and took the table I had been waiting for. We were told, ā10-15 minuteās more thatās all.ā Everyone in that place either just got served or were eating and socializing. We stood there awkwardly waiting five more minutes until I told my guests, āapparently we are not good enough for this place. Letās go somewhere else.ā The food is expensive and Iām a good tipper. Tasty Dumplings lost my money and my patronage, for a while anyway. They lost two new customers as well; it was the first time my guests were there.
Not a good first impression. I hope that this restaurant learns that all of their customers are important and they should put customer satisfaction before greed.
We ended up at the Worthen! Good food and good service. Best of all, I got to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYuck. My husband and I walked into this restaurant after spending a few dollars to park across the street in a lot (that was the only parking) because the reviews said it was amazing food. You'd think so-- given it's name... Well, immediately after walking in... My first impression was that it was very small, and grimy. The tables were WAY too close together, I get it... It's a small place and they want to be able to seat more than 8 people at a time but, they put my husband and I at a table for two right next to a door that went into the kitchen. It was SO NOISY, dishes clanking, backroom staff clattering about - the traffic through the door was so consistent, it became distracting and annoying and every time they went in or out, ALL that we could smell was bleach & dish soap overpowering anything else. It, was nauseating. On top of that, the people next to me were within an arms reach away. Our tables almost touched together. It was an extremely impersonal environment. We could hear them chewing. I felt like I needed to whisper to talk to my partner right next to me. While I was looking over the menu, (which didn't have anything much other than some form of fish in it--) my husband went to the bathroom. When he came out I gave him a look that said a thousand words, and without saying a word - he understood, grabbed his coat and we left. Now, if none of this bothers you, rock on. You'll probably enjoy it and I'd love to read your review about what a good experience...
