The dumplings are very good, the wonton soup is superb unlike any wonton soup you've had. My one criticism is that the portion sizes are too big, eight dumplings per order instead of the expected four and the wonton soup was a huge bowl, a meal in itself. I would suggest sharing the soup and limiting yourself to one order of dumplings per person. Had the soup dumplings, shumai, and the pan fried dumplings. Didn't care for the pan fried dumplings, they were just Peking ravs. The soup dumplings are great as are the shumai. Jan 2024: Had the cuttlefish dumplings. The dumplings are black from the squid ink so they aren't very attractive looking but they are delicious. July 2024: Added the scrimp rice noodles stir fry to our order. It's very good we had too much. Three dishes for two people is more than enough.

Life is Short. F….it up! Family, Flavor,Friends We started out with the scallion pancakes which light and perfectly fried. Next was the mini beef skewers. Then came the handmade dumplings. We got the special which was call treasurer dumplings, this was a good sampling of each flavor all very good. Next was the braised beef noodle soup. Very flavorful unique soup and beef and very tender melts in the mouth beef. We got the soup dumplings made to order. This place make the the dumplings dough the correct way- meaning even when it cools down they don’t break. The soup in the dumplings had a clean flavor. The next item was the braised pork belly and egg rice bowl. So simple, so basic, so good, with the first bite it transports you back to your childhood - real authentic homemade dinner.

We noticed this new restaurant while driving by playing PokĆ©mon Go. I was surprised they opened for business during the pandemic. Since they have outdoor seatings, we went on a Sunday Saturday. To be honest, they are still a tier below NYC Chinatown, but it's good enough for this area without long drive. We loved the pan fried dumplings the best. As it's name, very Tasty Dumplings. It has crispy snowflakes around the dumplings too. The Xiaolong Bao (soup dumplings) are very tasty too, the crab flavor ones don't have real crab meat, but does have the crab flavor. Other dishes are pretty decent as well. They do not have much stir fried dishes like other Chinese restaurants, more of dim sum (小吃) and easy quick dishes (简餐). Overall a nice addition to the diversified Lowell downtown.

I love their food. Most of the places in this area are, of course, Chinese food but leans more towards the fast foods/ the typical, maybe even stereotypical food you would imagine as "Chinese food".

Tasty Dumplings on the other hand, gives options on their menu that you may not see anywhere else in Lowell (but probably China Star or other nearby similar restaurants; but that's so far away!). Quick to order, and a convenient location.

Whether it is the nearby parking lots or a lucky curbside spot, you won't have to walk too far to get a bite here. Don't feel like doing take-out? They have dine-in but it is very limited. But that is ok! More outside seats come out during the summer season so you have a better chance at dining in :P

Local Bubble Tea/ Coffee shop next to this restaurant to get your drinking needs as well!

The only thing(s) that I would complain about that some of the dishes other than the dumplings can be a bit underwhelming (meaning that it wasn't something that got me excited to eat after the first bite or it was just too plain in general). If not that, the food can be a bit too salty or as if they added too much MSG. I get that it is food that can be made in a 15-30 minute time frame but I hope they can improve in this area for future orders.

Aside from that, their staff could go above and beyond! One person personally help me pack my take-out order into my bag seeing that I was struggling doing so. Somehow they managed to do it and I was on my way. My food didn't have spills or damaged packaging and it was done with my permission, if you were wondering. Lovely folks...

I love the food here but I didn’t get to taste it when I arrived for lunch Saturday at 12:30. I asked for the only table left but I was told, ā€œOh you can’t sit there, that’s for a large party.ā€ I told her I was waiting on two more people but she refused to seat me and ushered me over to where the bar stools were. I told her, ā€œI’m not sitting there with my guests.ā€ She retorted, ā€œJust wait. Just wait.ā€ I felt very put off and I considered her to be very rude. As it turned out, the server chose to let a party of four sit at the only table left when I had been waiting for 15 minutes. Granted, my guests were not there yet because they drove around for fifteen minutes looking for parking while I was trying to grab a table. As my two guests, making us a party of three, were walking in, a party of four walked in directly in-front of them and took the table I had been waiting for. We were told, ā€œ10-15 minute’s more that’s all.ā€ Everyone in that place either just got served or were eating and socializing. We stood there awkwardly waiting five more minutes until I told my guests, ā€œapparently we are not good enough for this place. Let’s go somewhere else.ā€ The food is expensive and I’m a good tipper. Tasty Dumplings lost my money and my patronage, for a while anyway. They lost two new customers as well; it was the first time my guests were there.

Not a good first impression. I hope that this restaurant learns that all of their customers are important and they should put customer satisfaction before greed.

We ended up at the Worthen! Good food and good service. Best of all, I got to...

Yuck. My husband and I walked into this restaurant after spending a few dollars to park across the street in a lot (that was the only parking) because the reviews said it was amazing food. You'd think so-- given it's name... Well, immediately after walking in... My first impression was that it was very small, and grimy. The tables were WAY too close together, I get it... It's a small place and they want to be able to seat more than 8 people at a time but, they put my husband and I at a table for two right next to a door that went into the kitchen. It was SO NOISY, dishes clanking, backroom staff clattering about - the traffic through the door was so consistent, it became distracting and annoying and every time they went in or out, ALL that we could smell was bleach & dish soap overpowering anything else. It, was nauseating. On top of that, the people next to me were within an arms reach away. Our tables almost touched together. It was an extremely impersonal environment. We could hear them chewing. I felt like I needed to whisper to talk to my partner right next to me. While I was looking over the menu, (which didn't have anything much other than some form of fish in it--) my husband went to the bathroom. When he came out I gave him a look that said a thousand words, and without saying a word - he understood, grabbed his coat and we left. Now, if none of this bothers you, rock on. You'll probably enjoy it and I'd love to read your review about what a good experience...
