April 2024: if I could give this place zero stars, I would. I didn’t even get a chance to experience the food or drinks because my friend and I were blatantly ignored by the elderly male bartender. We sat the bar for about ten minutes and got ZERO acknowledgment. There were a few others sitting there but the bar wasn’t packed at all (it’s a Monday early evening). The elderly man could’ve simply acknowledged us with a “how are you all doing? I’ll be with you in one moment” while he was attending to others. He never even made eye contact, said hello, nothing. Then after fake attending to one or two others at the bar, he walked to the back, not having said one word to us. My friend and I immediately left . It’s disappointing because I’ve wanted to try this place for a while, but that interaction has unfortunately left a horrible impression. I would hate to think that race mattered in this instance but I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if it was a contributing factor to why we experienced what we did. Edit (June 2024): came back two months later and my experience was a complete 180. My bartender was sweet and attentive. Actually had a chance to be served; I’m glad I gave this place a second chance. Old bay and sweet Thai chili wings were tasty. Also enjoyed the fried mozzarella

It was great Joe was my waiter he was amazing as usual . I had such a bad experience before with a woman that said she was Charlies wife who refuse to wait on me .Myself and my guest moved which was fine but it was more so her attitude the server that brought the food over to us had no personality and was more like Wednesday Addams this is something I've never experienced at this location I've been going here since my son played for Northerly Middle School my son has completed college at Temple University and now Invited for tryouts for the New York Giants that's how long I've been coming here this new change is hard Tim Colleen Steph Tiiff was the most amazing thing about that night I truly miss Kyle and if Charlie want things to persist with the Excellence that this place has been known for family and friends and good service he needs to leave his wife at home let her fold napkins and stay away from his customers.. I felt very discriminated against due her tone and facial gestures......Joe has been my reason for my return police officer and military and current Hospitality taskforce for companies such as Marriott .... Charlie teach your wife what I teach you treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEOgv.

You're in for a treat at this joint. The locals love it. Not what I expected but definitely awesome. We come in at 5pm Friday and the bar seating is almost full. We snap up a booth and order, by the end of our experience, the whole bar is packed and every table has a reservation tag on it. The service was great, couldn't be better. The food, this is the best part, unreal. The reviews do it justice. I got exactly what I expected after reading the reviews. Slammin, super dope wings. I'm a wing aficionado, these traditional hot wings, top notch. Precisely what I expect from a hot wing. The wings aren't huge and they aren't puny. Goldilocks, just right. Prime rib, broccoli, green beans - succulent. Crab stuffed shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops - perfection! I couldn't have enough about the food quality. It's like a pub vibe with a 50/50 menu. Half really well done pub eats, half mendenhal inn/Sullivan's. I will, by any means necessary, be back here to party hard on these great kitchen treats and delectable cocktails. Even if I have to run the 13 miles to get there. Go here, you'll love it!

Warning long post!

My family of 5 dined at this restaurant on 2/26/24 for my Husband’s birthday. I made a reservation for 7:15pm. When we arrived and saw what the restaurant looked like on the outside we instantly knew that this place was going to be a bust. This outside appearance was the 1st red flag.

When we entered the restaurant side of this establishment we were the only ones there (we did not need a reservation). Upon entering there were no table cloths on the tables like in the pictures on Google. It was dimly lit and looked like they were in the middle of redecorating the place. 2nd red flag of the night. Now to the food, I ordered a cheddar broccoli soup (cold and lacked flavor), my daughter had the seafood Mac & cheese (zero flavor and cheese sauce was runny) my husband ordered a Caesar salad with a piece of salmon on the side (it in fact didn’t come on the side, it was on top of his salad) the salmon was dried out. For my entree I ordered the blue crab ravioli. The 1st time my ravioli came out it was cold so I alerted our server and she said I’ll have them make you a fresh one. They in fact did not make me a fresh one they just heated it up until it was piping hot (unfortunately it made the ravioli tough). The only thing that was good was the crab legs (dungeness crab) which is what my 5yr old ordered. My other child ordered a burger. Our bill came to $249. The amount isn’t an issue (I’ve paid way more at better restaurants) it’s the food quality and the ambiance that has me puzzled. Needless to say I can’t understand how or why this so called restaurant has 4 and 5 star reviews…these people’s palates must be basic. The reason for 2 stars is for the service (didn’t catch her name but she was really nice and pleasant) and for the crab legs. We won’t be returning nor recommending this...

I needed to put this out there regarding my experience today at the Reef and the waitress Sara. I had ordered fried shrimp and crab quesadillas. When my order came I had cocktail sauce for my shrimp and I requested tartar as I do not eat cocktail sauce. When my bill came I noticed a charge for $.50 for additional tartar and $.50 for the ranch dressing. I asked the young lady Sara why am I being charge the additional $.50? I was told because I requested tartar sauce and I said that was not an additional, I requested that because I don’t eat cocktail sauce basically I’m allergic to it. Her response was I should’ve communicated that to her in which I responded why would I need to communicate that to you my health concerns? When at other restaurants cocktail and tarter come together. It’s not a choice. At the time of the request Sarah should communicate that there’s a charge for tartar sauce or switched out the cocktail sauce. Which she failed to do. If she could have stayed focus on what she was doing instead of being in the face of one of the male patrons, she would’ve noticed that cocktail sauce was untouched. This might appear a little petty but her lack of professionalism or attitude was a bit too much. Not to mention the reef applies gratuity of 20% to the check whether their waitress is courteous, efficient or nasty. I find that unacceptable. I have gone to the Reef on other occasions and never experienced the attitude that this one young woman exhibit. Her total response was I just assumed you want to both of them in which I replied you can’t...

Only reason I'm giving them a one star is because I can't give them a 0 star review. We ordered from Door Dash at 9pm two cheese steaks and some onion rings. They accepted our order (they literally have to physically accept the order on their end) and we were all set waiting for the food. Two hours went by and we get texted by the Door Dash Driver saying that the restaurant was closed since 8:45pm. Why the hell did they accept our order instead of declining it so we could order from a different restaurant. We ended up not only paying $40 for our order which is ridiculous to say the least for two cheese steaks.

On door dash they had the time set as if they were open until 11:29 PM at night. They're excuse is that Door Dash ser it up and that they were closed since 8:45 PM but that it's Door Dash's fault. Listen I work at a Restaurant myself and there is a way to log in and edit the information yourself. Their ignorance doesn't excuse this situation and it is actually quite irritating that they accepted the damn order to begin with! We could've ordered from a different location instead of waiting for two hours like morons for our food that would never arrive.

A simple "I'm sorry dear" doesn't cut it buddy next time instead of accepting an order when you're closed tell your staff to stop being idiots and to not waste people's time. Thanks for reading this aggressive review guys, I appreciate it if you made it to the end but I hate restaurants that...
