Warning long post!
My family of 5 dined at this restaurant on 2/26/24 for my Husband’s birthday. I made a reservation for 7:15pm. When we arrived and saw what the restaurant looked like on the outside we instantly knew that this place was going to be a bust. This outside appearance was the 1st red flag.
When we entered the restaurant side of this establishment we were the only ones there (we did not need a reservation). Upon entering there were no table cloths on the tables like in the pictures on Google. It was dimly lit and looked like they were in the middle of redecorating the place. 2nd red flag of the night. Now to the food, I ordered a cheddar broccoli soup (cold and lacked flavor), my daughter had the seafood Mac & cheese (zero flavor and cheese sauce was runny) my husband ordered a Caesar salad with a piece of salmon on the side (it in fact didn’t come on the side, it was on top of his salad) the salmon was dried out. For my entree I ordered the blue crab ravioli. The 1st time my ravioli came out it was cold so I alerted our server and she said I’ll have them make you a fresh one. They in fact did not make me a fresh one they just heated it up until it was piping hot (unfortunately it made the ravioli tough). The only thing that was good was the crab legs (dungeness crab) which is what my 5yr old ordered. My other child ordered a burger. Our bill came to $249. The amount isn’t an issue (I’ve paid way more at better restaurants) it’s the food quality and the ambiance that has me puzzled. Needless to say I can’t understand how or why this so called restaurant has 4 and 5 star reviews…these people’s palates must be basic. The reason for 2 stars is for the service (didn’t catch her name but she was really nice and pleasant) and for the crab legs. We won’t be returning nor recommending this...
Read moreI needed to put this out there regarding my experience today at the Reef and the waitress Sara. I had ordered fried shrimp and crab quesadillas. When my order came I had cocktail sauce for my shrimp and I requested tartar as I do not eat cocktail sauce. When my bill came I noticed a charge for $.50 for additional tartar and $.50 for the ranch dressing. I asked the young lady Sara why am I being charge the additional $.50? I was told because I requested tartar sauce and I said that was not an additional, I requested that because I don’t eat cocktail sauce basically I’m allergic to it. Her response was I should’ve communicated that to her in which I responded why would I need to communicate that to you my health concerns? When at other restaurants cocktail and tarter come together. It’s not a choice. At the time of the request Sarah should communicate that there’s a charge for tartar sauce or switched out the cocktail sauce. Which she failed to do. If she could have stayed focus on what she was doing instead of being in the face of one of the male patrons, she would’ve noticed that cocktail sauce was untouched. This might appear a little petty but her lack of professionalism or attitude was a bit too much. Not to mention the reef applies gratuity of 20% to the check whether their waitress is courteous, efficient or nasty. I find that unacceptable. I have gone to the Reef on other occasions and never experienced the attitude that this one young woman exhibit. Her total response was I just assumed you want to both of them in which I replied you can’t...
Read moreOnly reason I'm giving them a one star is because I can't give them a 0 star review. We ordered from Door Dash at 9pm two cheese steaks and some onion rings. They accepted our order (they literally have to physically accept the order on their end) and we were all set waiting for the food. Two hours went by and we get texted by the Door Dash Driver saying that the restaurant was closed since 8:45pm. Why the hell did they accept our order instead of declining it so we could order from a different restaurant. We ended up not only paying $40 for our order which is ridiculous to say the least for two cheese steaks.
On door dash they had the time set as if they were open until 11:29 PM at night. They're excuse is that Door Dash ser it up and that they were closed since 8:45 PM but that it's Door Dash's fault. Listen I work at a Restaurant myself and there is a way to log in and edit the information yourself. Their ignorance doesn't excuse this situation and it is actually quite irritating that they accepted the damn order to begin with! We could've ordered from a different location instead of waiting for two hours like morons for our food that would never arrive.
A simple "I'm sorry dear" doesn't cut it buddy next time instead of accepting an order when you're closed tell your staff to stop being idiots and to not waste people's time. Thanks for reading this aggressive review guys, I appreciate it if you made it to the end but I hate restaurants that...
