I called the restaurant in advance to confirm our dinner reservation. Because it was a very busy weekend, the latest dinner reservations we could get we're at 4:30 pm for a party of 5. Upon arriving ( on time) we were dumped in the bar area at a table for 4 with an extra chair at the end. We were given only bar menus, not dinner menus, and told by the service manager that dinner service would not be available for another 20 minutes and NO, we could not wait until then to order dinner instead of pub food because they were very busy and had to turn that table over another 3 X that evening! I've never been treated more rudely at an establishment with such good reviews. They seem to have a problem dealing with customer reservations on busy days. Thankfully, our server was accommodating ; got us dinner menus and had the general manager come over to half halfheartedly apologize to us. It was explained to us that they usually don't start dinners until 5pm (Duh, we wanted a later dinner reservation but none was available so we settled on the 4:30 slot which was offered and accepted). I almost felt like he was waiting for an apology from me. None the less, our expectations of an elegant dinner were tainted. We're new to the area and were looking for a high quality restaurant to celebrate a birthday and Mother's Day. The reviews and ratings for this establishment led us to believe we'd found it but we left disappointed and won't return. The food was good, not great, but the quality of our server made our experience better than it otherwise...

First time here and will definitely be back. We had a reservation and were sat within 5 minutes of arriving and checking in. David was our server and he did an amazing job. Appetizers came out and were great, I ordered the shareable goat cheese ricotta and my husband ordered the chicken orzo soup. For dinner I ordered the flounder piccata and my husband ordered the new York strip frittes. When our food came out I tasted mine and like everything else, amazing. My husband's steak though, sadly came out VERY well done when he'd ordered it medium rare. I made eye contact with David and he immediately came over. Before I could get my words out he looked down and said "you don't even have to say anything, that's not right. I'll take this and get your steak remade and sent out immediately." While we were waiting for the new steak to come out the manager on duty, Max, came over and apologized. Asked my husband if there was absolutely anything he wanted while we waited for the steak. We were fine and didn't feel the need to order anything during the wait. When the new steak came out it was done perfectly. My husband said it was just as good as it looked. Our experience with David and Max solidified that we'd be back soon. We recently had an experience at another restaurant where the steak ordered came out well done when ordered medium rare. Part of me wants to call them up(but I won't) and tell them to speak with management at White Dog Cafe on how to handle that situation because it was seriously...

I got take out. I hate dining in here. The only good thing is the kids chicken fingers and they make you feel like a bad person if you order in person without a kid. So delivery is a pro hack. Plus avoid their stupid credit card fee. Credit card fees are literally the price of doing business- you pay I don’t.

Anyhow delivery is the way to go. Is it cold and soggy? Of course. But at least I get the only good thing on the menu . I literally have a dog- I don’t need to pay for to see your wall art. In person tuna tartar has been sinewy. This place used to be great and now it is not . Probably it will close soon and that’s ok they cut corners and like many long standing restaurants they think they can stand on their name forever. Maybe just become a chicken finger place and I’m in. Allegedly the mushroom soup is good

Hold up- Is there bacon the brussels sprouts, what’s up with that, it’s not on the menu. Pigs are dirty creatures. I don't eat dirty creatures. A sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know because I wouldn't eat those filthy animals One star- please close or get new management . You are not what you were and that saddens me

I will not deduct for a mouse I saw in front of your Wayne location as this is a different place and far for the mouse to travel. Plus no mice were in my delivery unless that is what the bacon...

My partner and I recently went to White Dog for brunch. Overall we had a very lovely experience, but I'd make a few minor changes. Here are my notes: - There's a free parking lot on site, so you don't have to worry about finding parking. - The food was fantastic and fairly priced. I particularly enjoyed the peach rice pudding—an excellent recommendation from our waitress. - Our waitress (I don't remember her name, but she was a young woman with long brown hair) was attentive, friendly, and helpful. A waiter on staff wasn't as friendly or kind, which was disappointing. - The decor is beautiful and super unique, which made for a nice dining experience. However, we were sat at a table with fabric chairs and the fabric was rather unclean (pics included). It kind of grossed me out. These chairs could use a good steam. - There are two single-use restrooms, but it's not clear that there's two (there could be a sign pointing to the one in the back) and it's not clear when someone is in one (it would be nice if the lock indicated if it was occupied or not). There were no paper towels—only hand dryers. Overall we'd come back, but I hope my notes will be helpful to ownership!

The food here was incredible! I ordered the latkes with salmon as an appetizer, as well as the salmon and half chicken. Everything was delicious, although I think my very favorite is torn between the latkes and the salmon. I also had the my darling mocktail, and everyone else in my table enjoyed the golden mule! It was not a cheap dinner, but honestly worth every penny for the flavor and experience. They have limited seating indoors as well as a large tent outside for covid-19 safety. The tables were well spaced, and I felt safe while we enjoyed our meal. I also learned that the White Dog was named after a woman (Mme Blavatsky) who used to perform seances, and she always performed them with a white dog in her lap. Just a neat fun fact. The interior decor is all beautiful portraits of dogs as well, and they have large metal dog sculptures flanking the front of the restaurant. If you're looking for a really nice fine dining experience, with incredible food, and a safe atmosphere, I would recommend this location.
