Can't speak to their dinners, but their lunches are enough to keep me from ever trying one.
I've given Brazzo a couple of tries for a quick lunch since they're so convenient to get to when I'm working from home. The first time, I got the cheesesteak lunch combo and was disappointed as soon as I took it out of the bag. The cheesesteak was good, but it was served on a ~6" roll. I would never have expected such a tiny sandwich for $9, but it was good, so I didn't mind it too much.
The second time I got the Italian hoagie and I was disappointed again. When I went to pick it up, I was told they were out of french fries, so they were replaced with "fried potatoes" because that's what their hoagies "were usually served with anyway". I'm not sure how a restaurant runs out of french fries (or serves fried potatoes with their hoagies), but I would have appreciated being told that when I placed my order so I could replace the fries with something I'd actually eat.
When I got home and took the platter out of the bag this time, I was disappointed with the sandwich AND the side. The hoagie consisted of 4 (yes, 4) thick, whole tomato slices, a mound of lettuce & onion, and a SINGLE slice of each meat and cheese on a 6 inch roll. I took most of the vegetables off and still had a hard time convincing myself I wasn't eating a vegetable sandwich. The potatoes may have been fried at one point, but were just reheated and thrown into the platter with my veggies, so I had some nice, warm tomatoes to go with my microwaved potatoes.
Will I ever try their food ever again? Nope, and I would recommend you give some more thought if you find yourself hungry around lunchtime in Harleysville. Wawa, which is right down the street, has MUCH better sandwiches for half the price - that's...
Read moreI've been going to Brazos since Maurice opened it in 2002. My family has been going there since there was 4 tables, and three expansions into new space. I know Maurice personally, the original owner. We had my wife's surprise birthday party there and it was just like being home for us. When Maurice announced his retirement I got a bit sad, as I didn't know the plan yet. New owners are here to grow and flourish, this during a pandemic and I really want them to succeed!
The food is not only still awesome, I'm seeing how the new owners are putting in their years' of experience into improving and they're doing a great job! I"ve seen improvements already in certain favorite dishes and everything is always top quality, from the bread to the balsamics for salads which I swear is so addictive. . The chicken marsala to me is sooooo good. I also love all the new seafood coming out. I wish the new owners all the success in the world, their success is our success with great food. As the pandemic comes to an end I look forward to bringing a bottle of wine and eating indoors once again. Until then we constantly order takeout and it has been completely safe and something to...
Read moreYou will not meet warmer, sweeter people than owners Sabrina and Scott. They will make you feel like family from the moment you step through the door until the time you leave. The wait staff are attentive, friendly, and go to exceptional lengths to make sure your dining experience surpasses your standards. The food is outstanding from the Brussels Sprouts (we love the Buffalo Hot style) to the soups, the familiar, comforting pasta dishes, and the creative fish and seafood specials. The pizza is the BEST in the area, full stop. And if you have room for dessert, you have a great rotating selection (but don’t miss out on the lemoncello cake!)
We love this gem in Harleysville and we try to either go or get take out every Friday as well as some Sunday dinners and special occasions with family (both local and visiting). If you live in or are close to the area, make it a point to dine at Bella Fiona. Bring your favorite bottle of wine (or...
