I only ever go to this Walmart because of its convenient location. I can get there in less than 5 minutes.
However, I give this Walmart a poor rating because of the following 2 reasons:
Inventory - I go to Walmart to buy specific things. I'm always in and out and rarely do I ever browse. It seems like every time I go in there, though, that they never have anything I'm looking for. Because of this reason, I'd rather just order online and wait for delivery.
Customer service - I am just baffled at the lack of customer service I've received at this place any time I needed it. I'll always approach an associate with a jovial attitude and a smile. In return, I get a lackluster attitude and a grimace. It's like no one at this place likes their job (except a RARE few). But I always get the finger point when I ask where something is located. I will never get the above and beyond. "It's in Home Goods."...ok...where in Home Goods? Do I have to beg you to show me? They should teach that in the training to literally walk the customer to where an item is. That place is a confusing maze of products to the novice shopper. Most of my time spent in this store is just trying to find the area of what I'm looking for.
Here's also a great example of the subpar customer service I got just today-
So I called in to ask if they had a book in stock (because I've learned not to waste my time going there since they rarely have what I'm looking for). The woman who answered asked me what I was looking for. I told her a book. She asked the title. Why? I have no idea because she only transferred me anyway. All she really needed to know was that I was looking for a book if she was going to transfer me.
I get transferred. Ring....ring....ring....ring...Finally a guy answers and asks if I can hold. "Sure, no problem," I remark.
3 minutes go by....then 5...then 6...then 7. The phone eventually rings again and I get a different woman. "Thanks for calling Walmart how can I help you?"
"Hi I just called looking for a book. I was on hold for 7 minutes and I got looped back to you again."
So she asks me - again - the title of the book. I have no idea why it mattered because again I got transferred.
Ring....ring....ring....ring...ring....ring...
"Thank you for calling Walmart how can I help you?"
You.Have.Got.To.Be.Kidding.
I maintained my composure (I was quite agitated) and I said I was looking for a book in stock. I got redirected 2 times already and no one can seem to help me. Finally, after 10 minutes, I tell the girl the name of the book and she said she'd go look for me. Another minute goes by-
"Hi, sir? Yeah sorry we don't have it."
Of course they don't. The online store has it though. I was trying to save a few bucks on shipping but I could have easily just went to the store, checked myself and returned home even before the phone call ended.
The total time of this simple phone call: 11 minutes 47 seconds.
It's bad experiences like this that I will always think twice before stepping into this...
Read moreListen I would prefer to message the store directly but can't seem to and I am writing this exclusively because it happened more than once and because I am certainly not the only person impacted by these issues. I know we are in the middle of an unprecedented event. I know no one is quite sure how careful to be or what is overkill and that you and your staff are just trying to do what you have to and get through the day, but whats happened to me TWICE now in that building over two days was apalling. I shop there regularly, I'm local and I doubt very much anyone working there cares about or values that but TWICE this week I couldn't LEAVE the store when I needed to and was ready to because everyone is too focused on HERDING customers like cattle and barking orders. The first visit I had paid for my items already at the pharmacy and had to walk back and forth around an insane space of the store only to realize that the front entrance is now somewhat ludicrously alarmed and that everything else was caution taped off. I wound up having to ask someone PERMISSION TO LEAVE who was kind enough to let me under the caution tape. Today I just came in to see if you had an item in stock - you didn't so I went to leave and a rather rude lady actually insisted I STAND IN THE LONG SELF CHECKOUT LINE BEHIND PEOPLE WHO HAD TO RING OUT and WAIT MY TURN TO LEAVE THE STORE. I'm not going to be held hostage by this insane setup again. I won't be back to this location until this is over which feels insane because its minutes from my house. I'm fine with directing those that have a thing to do and I'm fine with spacing myself out but being unable to just LEAVE WHEN I CAN is WAY beyond any service model that is called for, necessary, or excusable no matter what...
Read moreThere is a guy that works at the door(Ian) and he never greets any person of color. i watched him greet white ppl tho. now i’m not one to pull the race card but i have no problem calling something out when it’s obvious. management did not take me seriously. at first manager Brandy was super nice about it. but when i was supposed to follow back up with her with giving her the associates name , she was very nonchalant and barely wanted to talk to me AS IF SHE DID NOT INSTRUCT ME TO GO BACK INSIDE WALMART TO GET HIS NAME. then when i went back inside - i asked an associate named Andrew for his name (Ian) ……Andrew TOLD IAN who i was and what i was doing they started gossiping about ne right in front of me. Ian got extremely upset …..i was embarrassed and had anxiety attack. it led to a confrontation with me and Andrew because i confronted him on how unprofessional that was. it was absolutely embarrassing. i no longer feel comfortable shopping at this walmart and it’s the closest one to me. i’ve escalated the situation with walmart’s ethics department and i’ve sent them the videos since manager BRANDY lied and said i was not able to email them& that they do not have any sort of email to give me ( store manager Earnest told me that i could in fact...
