I have had Dairy Queen before and had a pretty good experience the other times I went, decent food and a decent price, can’t beat that. However, today was a little different.
The staff in there is polite and doing the best they can, they all seem to be young kids, maybe high school so I won’t put any blame on them as I remember what it was like working fast food as a teenager. My issue lies in the food. First of all, the bread was stale and definitely old. But more importantly, I found both a hair and a tick on my burger… definitely grossed me the hell out and I threw away practically the whole thing, as well as the fries and the drink because after that experience I don’t think my stomach could handle any more of what I had been given.
An unfortunate experience to say the absolute least, I didn’t go in and make a big deal of it because to be completely honest, I don’t have the energy for it. I figured instead of causing a big ruckus maybe writing a review that hopefully management will see would be a little better. Circling back to a point I made earlier, the staff are all kids, while I understand it’s easier to find staff who are underage for fast food establishments, there NEEDS to be at least one adult on shift at all times. Kids can only do so much, and should be supervised to ensure that all sanitary aspects are living up to...
Read moreThe food was very good here, that's why I gave the two stars. The problem was the way my request for a glass of water was handled. We were all sitting down starting in on our lunch when I went up and asked for a cup for water. There were 7 of us there, I bought myself a bottle of water, the others had soda except my 7 year old grandson, who realized that he'd only requested an ice cream cone but was now thirsty so I gave him my bottle of water and went to the counter to ask for a cup so I could get water from the soft drink machine. I asked the elderly lady on duty if I could please have a cup and I was promptly denied and I quote, "because you didn't pay for it". I said, but I'm not asking for another bottled water, I want the water from the soft drink machine. I understand, she said, but her boss does not allow you to use those clear little cups for water because you might fill it with soda so you have to pay for it. Are you kidding me? I asked her. I told her that I think it's against the law not to give a drink of water to a patron who requests it. Well, she said, I can fill a cup for you. I replied, then please do. She filled the little clear cup and told me that I was not permitted to get myself water and if I needed the cup refilled that she must refill it. SERIOUSLY? I don't plan on every going back...
Read moreThe answer you as the owner sent me appears to be the same answer you send to all customers that don't leave a 5 star review. Any additional info? Nope. I figure repeating myself will make zero difference. A reply that's not taylored to the problem is useless.
A few weeks ago, my husband brought home a box of ice cream sandwiches...a rare treat. They were great. Fresh crunchy cookie and nicely filled. This week we went back for two boxes, and dropped one at our neighbors, but what a disappointment. The ice cream was no thicker than a half inch and honestly for the price, I should have made the trip to the grocery store. Either the first box was a fluke or the next two were. I know it's a small thing, but quality control allows consumers to know what to expect. Maybe I just lucked out...
